#Kismet001

It hurts. But I learned to accept it and continued living my life.

But what if bumalik siya?

I'd welcome him with open arms— not as my lover but as my friend. Because the friendship that we have built when we were together still mean the world to me.

I think not all lovestory deserves a second chance. Sometimes, it's better if past lovers would just be friends instead of getting back together. Less complicated, less heartbreak.

But no matter how much I tell myself that I am better off without him, there's a little part in my heart that just won't let go. I am still hoping that in the end, it would still be me and Javi

I shouted from the living room. My mom was in the kitchen, preparing dinner for my dad. "I'll be back around 3 na siguro."

I saw my mom came out from the kitchen, she was holding a pot holder. "Where is she going to celebrate her birthday? Bahay lang?"

I nodded. "Yup, house party lang."

Camille chose to celebrate her birhday in their house lang. She invited only her close friends and some of her cousins. I should probably prepare myself, syempre invited si Juan because he is Camille's boyfriend.

I politely told my driver. "Birthday nung babaeng 'yon ngayon eh."

"Aba, pakisabi kay Camille happy birthday." he replied with a smile. "Mejo matagal na rin nung huli kong nakita 'yung batang 'yon ah. Kumusta na ba siya?"

A smile slowly formed on my lips when I remembered how happy my best friend is. She finally got herself a boyfriend who loves her as much as she loves him. I know Juan is a great guy, I know he would never intentionally hurt my best friend.

"Sobrang saya non ngayon, Mang Gil." I answered, still smiling. "Sila na po ni Juan. Who would've thought that they would end up together."

Mang Gil chuckled. "Oo nga eh. Pero nakita ko sila isang beses sa UP town nung may pinabili ka sa'kin, hindi ata nila ako napansin. Ikaw ba, hija? Kumusta ang buhay pag-ibig mo?"

I faked a laugh. Of all the things that he could ask me, love life ko talaga? He could've asked about school. Nangaasar ata si Mang Gil eh.

"Wala nga po eh." I replied, smiling. "Walang nagkamali ulit eh."

"Eh ano tawag mo dun kay Caelan?" Mang Gil asked again. He was referring to my classmate in Ateneo. I started entertaining guys again just last week and I met him in one of my classes last sem.

"Ikaw talaga Mang Gil! Wala pa 'yun, nagpaparamdam palang siya pero wala pa talaga." I replied to pacify his curiosity. "Hindi ko rin kasi sure kung ready na ba talaga ako ulit eh."

Mang Gil heaved out a deep sigh. "Kahit hindi mo naman sabihin, kitang kita ko sa mga mata mo na si Javi parin eh." then he glanced at me. "Anong plano mo ngayong bumalik na siya?"

Ano nga bang plano ko? I offered him friendship, na hindi ko alam kung tama ba. I mean, yes I value the friendship that we've built pero hindi ko alam kung magwowork pa ba 'yung friendship namin this time.
