“Why are you telling me this?” Peter conceded, shaking his head lightly.

“Because I want you to understand,” Toomes began earnestly. “And, I needed a little time to get her airborne.”

Toomes brought his right hand up, just as something crashed through the wall behind Peter. His head snapped behind him, and Peter narrowly missed getting skewered as he flipped up and over the Vulture wings. Peter landed in a deep crouch, ready to spring into action at any second while Toomes, with a knife in his right hand, cut his left hand free from the webbing. The wings looped back around, and Peter thwipped to a nearby pillar to narrowly dodge them as they sweeped by just underneath him, taking out the pillar along with them. Peter flipped back to the ground only to spring straight up again as the wings barrelled straight for him. He jumped off the wings mid-air, flipping to the right as it banked left. Peter landed steadily as the wings took out another two pillars and crashed through another wall and out of sight.

“I’m sorry Peter.” Toomes confessed, looking on with mild glee just as the Vulture wings came crashing through the ceiling and straight done towards Peter who dropped to the ground to just barely dodge the wings. As they shot forward, Peter was blasted back by the wings a few feet, but he quickly reached out his hands to stick to the ground. He slid back till he fully regained his footing.

“What are you talking about that thing hasn't even touched me yet.” Peter stated, keeping eyes on the Vulture wings as they circled around the warehouse once more.

“True,” Adrian confessed slightly impressed. “But then again, wasn’t really trying to.” He shrugged.

The wings smashed through a column, then another, and another. Till it crashed through the last column and the ceiling gave way. Peter looked up and tried to brace himself as the roof came crashing down on top of him. Adrian turned to his side, raising his arms to stop the debris from getting too close to his face. A voice buzzed through on the other side of his walkie, and he quickly responded to his comrades, then wasting no time in leaving the warehouse without even a second glance.

Not long after, a certain Peter Parker began regaining consciousness. Large chunks of debris covered him, effectively pinning him. Peter’s head hung against a large boulder, the only piece of his body not having been pinned. Peter groggily began lifting his head, his eyes slowly adjusting to the darkness. All he could register was a numb thrum throughout his body, except for the ache in his chest. Peter drew in deep, struggling gasps, pain coursing through his chest with each attempt. With what strength he could muster Peter brought his hands up shakily to rip off his cloth mask and goggle, desperately hoping doing so would provide some sort of relief. It didn’t. Peter let out strangled gasps, clinging to whatever air he could get in.

“Okay ready.” Peter wheezed, his hands finding purchase against the ground. Peter poured all his strength into pushing up, arching his back to push up the debris. Without it even moving an inch Peter collapsed down again, producing strangled noises. His situation was really starting to get to him.

“Hey,” Peter began weakly.

He sucked in a gulp of air, ”Hello!” He full on yelled, desperation clear in his voice.

“Please! Hey, hey please I’m down here!” He pleaded, his words falling short.

“I’m down here, I’m stuck. I’m stuck, I can’t move.” Peter tried again, his voice nowhere close to as loud as before. Peter gasped, falling limp against the debris, as tears pricked his eyes. Peter lay there, the numbness in his body and crushing pain in his chest getting worse. He noticed a glint below him, and slowly raised his head to see a puddle of water below him. Peter almost winced at the sight of his red and dirty face. Not to mention his hair was a mess of curls, a few falling down into his face. Peter noticed his mask laying in the puddle, looking back up at him. In the reflection, the homemade mask covered have of his face. Suddenly, Peter remembered a certain something, and found himself remembering the words of his mentor in his head.
