You rushed out of the patient's room in a hurry, starting to really think about what Yuuma said. "What I've said doesn't even come close to what he's done to me." What does he mean by that? What has Takai done? While on your way to the medication room, you felt a hard force bump into you, causing you to drop the tray alongside the cup and empty container.

"Shit! I'm so sorry! L-let me help you up!" A masculine voice said. Despite the voice, you watched as a woman took your hand and pulled you up. She had long, thin dark hair that was braided into one plait, and icy blue eyes that heavily intimidated you. Regardless, she greeted you with a warm smile.

"Thank you. I'm sorry, I was so deep in thought that I wasn't looking at where I was going," You hastily apologized. The woman smiled and shook her head.

"Adorable. I've never seen you around here, are you new?" You nodded, and woman raised her eyebrows and head. "I'm sorry in advance–Anyways, I'm Motome, Saika. Your name is...?" You didn't realize that she was prompting you until she motioned her hands.

"Sorry," You blinked. "I'm Hosoya, Y/n." Saika's once cheerful look quickly turned into a look of disgust. "What? What's going on?"

"Are you married to Dr. Hosoya?" You nodded slowly, not sure how to approach the situation. "Oh, you poor thing! Does he treat you well? Never mind that, I see you have somewhere to go. Let's sit together during lunch!" Before you could respond, the woman rushed away, leaving you puzzled.

What just happened?

Loathe for you to admit, you hated the elevators. You couldn't take the newer ones in the front because they did not lead to your patient floor. Instead, you had to take the dingy, rusty, and smelly 50-year-old elevators that let out an ear-piercing screech whenever you've reached your destined floor. Stepping into the open unit floor, you looked at the file on your tray, searching for the room number, and eventually found it: 1-29. You weaved through patients, nurses and doctors, and even stepped on someone's foot by accident. Thankfully, you made it to the patient's door unscathed.

You cleared your voice and pressed the intercom button, praying that this patient was not like Yuuma–Not like the poor guy could control it.

"Hello? Hisoka? This is your new nurse, Y/n. I'm here to bring you your medication. Will you please let me in?" After a minute or two, you raised your hand to knock on the door, but it never hit the piece of wood.

"Come in," Hisoka said softly, not bothering to greet you. You watched as the male stood there for a few more seconds before walking back into the room and sitting on his bed.

"How are you feeling today, Hisoka?" You promptly asked the man while getting his antidepressants situated. When you got no answer, you looked up and saw that the man was staring at you with a slightly surprised look. "What's the matter?"

"Nobody's really asked me that before. S-Sorry, I'm fine," Hisoka muttered out, looking away.

You nodded. "That's wonderful. Are you feeling better than yesterday?" The patient nodded, making you smile to yourself. Unfortunately, you tried to give Hisoka the small cup of medicine, and he didn't take it. "Is there anything wrong, Hisoka?" The man backed up on the bed away from you.

"I hate taking pills. They taste weird and I don't feel good after." You sighed, placed the cup of medicine back on the tray, and sat down on the bed. You made sure to give you and Hisoka some space, since you knew he didn't quite trust you yet.

"How do they make you feel? Dizzy? Sick? Do you have stomach aches?" The male nodded to every one of your questions, and you gave him a small smile. "Those are totally normal side effects, okay? You take these pills so you can feel better and manage your more serious symptoms." You watched Hisoka's face change and came to a conclusion that he was not buying it. "Do you like applesauce?"

"I've never tried it before." Your eyebrows raised high, causing Hisoka to tilt his head.

"D-Did I say something wrong?" You promptly shook your head and reassured the man with a smile.

"Not at all, Hisoka. Do you like apples? Applesauce is like apples, but sweeter and is more like a puree," You informed the man.

"I like apples..."

"So would you like to try taking your medicine with applesauce instead of just water? That way you can taste more of the apple sauce and it'll drown out that nasty pill one!" The man didn't say anything and just nodded slightly, which you took as a yes. "I'll be right back, Hisoka. Don't go anywhere, okay?" You joked, but didn't get any sort of reaction, so you just saved it with a smile, grabbed the tray, and left.

As soon as you left the room, you were met with a hand on your shoulder, causing you to squeak. You turned around slightly annoyed to find your husband laughing at you. "Takai! Don't you scare me like that! And how long were you out here for?"

You impatiently waited for Takai to stop laughing, and was about to turn away when he spoke. "Sorry, Y/n. Was he one of your patients?"

"Yeah, that was Hisoka." His eyes then trailed down to the small container that still held some pills.

"Why hasn't he taken his medicine, Y/n? I'm sure you know that as a nurse, you're supposed to–"

"Make sure a patient takes their medicine, yeah." You giggled, walking with Takai to the elevator. "You don't need to oversee me, Hun. You're not my boss. I'm just going to get him some applesauce." Takai pressed the down button on the elevator, his face morphing into confusion.

"Applesauce? How random. Anyway, how is your first day going? Have you gotten to Kōsuke yet?"

"It's going alright, and no, I haven't gotten to him yet. I don't bring his medicine up to him, just his food; I don't do that till 1 o'clock." Takai nodded, pressing the ground and the tenth floor for you and him.

"Good," Takai said to himself, making a face when he realized you heard him. "I-I just don't want you to be in that kind of danger, Y/n. He's really dangerous–I don't even know why Dr. Ward handed Kōsuke off to you!"

You sighed after hearing Takai rant about your safety for the nth time, clutching the tray closer to your body. "I appreciate you trying to keep me safe, but I'm a grown woman. I can handle my own issues, as well as my own patients." You gave your husband a peck on the cheek as the elevator squealed, revealing his floor.

"I'll see you during lunch," Takai said as he walked out of the old elevator.

The second time you entered Hisoka's room, you had a cup of strawberry applesauce as well as a spoon on top of a napkin in case the patient wanted to use the spoon. "Is that what apple sauce usually looks like?" Hisoka asked softly, gesturing to the salmon pink puree sitting in the cup. You shook your head.

"Sorry, Hisoka. The kitchen was out of regular applesauce, so I had to get the next best thing. Do you know how to open something like this?" You held the strawberry applesauce cup up, and Hisoka nodded. You then handed it to the male, who was curiously looking at the spoon. "I just brought the spoon in case you preferred to eat the puree with a utensil. If you don't want to, you can just take your medicine and quickly slurp the puree down. Very simple." You then handed the container of pills to Hisoka.

Hisoka looked at the packaged puree in his hand, before opening the lid and lifting it to his nose for a bit. Content with the smell, he then chucked the pills into his mouth and quickly chugged the strawberry applesauce down. You gave the male a moment to digest before speaking.

"Was it bad?" The man looked at you with a blank expression for a while, making you feel a bit uncomfortable.

"It's really sweet," The man pondered. "I like it. It got rid of the nasty pill taste."

"That's great! From now on, would you like me to bring your medicine with applesauce everyday?" Hisoka nodded once again, making you smile. "Terrific. I'll be back at 11 to bring you your lunch."
