My Brother's Mate

EPILOGUE: Two Years Later

It's been almost two years since everything happened and we take each day as it comes with moving on.

We had buried both Aston's parents next to each other in their family cemetery several miles into town from their place in England and we remained in their mansion.

Aston and I had gone after we healed, a few days after the big fight to the council and explained in what we had to do with Malachai.

I knew that Aston was nervous because of what they might have said but they seemed to have understood. Then months after that, he was announced as the new Alpha King as the next in line for his dad.

It was great and we celebrated. Then we got married a year ago and right at this moment, we are watching Bruce and his mate's baby while they were out on a date night.

Their baby was ten months old and was so cute. She was a beautiful little girl that I just couldn't get enough of.

While trying to rock her asleep, I was softly singing the song 'Godspeed, Sweet Dreams' by The Dixie Chicks and she finally fell asleep.

Then when I stood up slowly and gently placed her into the crib and placed a blanket over her.

Then I next turned and noticed Aston standing in the doorway, leaning against it smiling at me.

I smiled back at him and made sure he was quiet while I walked out and closed the door  behind me and we headed downstairs so that we could watch a movie and while we sat there on the couch trying to figure out what to watch, I notice him stopping and then out the corner of my eye, I see him looking at me.

"What?" I smiled and turned to him.

"I was just thinking." He smiles.

"About what?" I ask him.

"When I saw you up there with their baby it made me think about you holding ours and I was thinking about how we haven't really talked about having kids. And putting aside the whole thing about how it's what we have to do because of expectations, I just want to let you know, if you decide you don't want kids or you can't have any, I want you to know I love you and that I'm okay with that. And even if it's the fact you don't want to, it's okay because you are the one that will carry it and go through all of the things women go through while pregnant." He began ranting.

"Like cravings and the feet swelling and so forth and so forth?" I said.

"Well, yes." He smiled.

I then sat up and lifted my head up off his lap before I next placed my hand on the side of his face and looked into his eyes.

"I do want kids with you. I just thought maybe you might not be ready. I mean, I know you want kids but, I just wasn't sure in how soon. So I never brought it up." I explain.

He places his hand on the side of my face and smiles.

"Baby I'm ready when you are." He assures me with a smile.

"Well then, after Bruce comes and gets their baby then, we should get started. That is if you'll be up to it." I tell him.

"Ob baby you have no idea in how much energy I have and will have still that you're gonna be really tired afterwards for a while." He smirks.

"I love you." I tell him.

"I love you more." He says and bends down to kiss me.

Who would have ever thought that the fates would work in either one of our favors. I may not always understand things that happen but I know that I need to not try and over think things so much and over worry with more than I need to or can handle. So for now, we'll just keep heading towards our ever after.
