No longer a dream

This time I didn't bother calling out. This set up was way too familiar, so I just started walking around until I found that same cabin. Just now I realised how big it actually was, since it looked like a plain house. I walked around it first, making sure that tall creature wasn't around. To my surprise, it wasn't. I was debating whether I should enter again or not, but of course curiosity took over and I once again entered that cabin, greeted by the same couch, same carpet and same TV.

I quickly rushed into the next room, the kitchen. Looking around I saw the same set of knifes and the same set of dishes, however one of them was dirty. I took the plate carefully and looked at it closer. The plate had very little spots where fur was laying and rather big, red stains. Given the fact that the plate was a porcelain white it wasn't hard to spot the stains. I sniffed at them and quickly cringed. It had a metallic smell to it, so I assumed that it was blood. I put the plate back to where it was in an attempt of making it not as noticeable that I had been in the cabin.

I walked out of the kitchen, back into the living room. This time I didn't want to go into that bedroom, who knows what could've happened. I went for the front door and reached out to open it, but something was wrong. I remembered I had left the door open a crack, but there it was in front of me: the door was shut tight. My first thought was that someone else must've entered, but it was quickly replaced by another thought. Maybe it was just the wind, a draft?

As quickly as that safe thought came it was proved to be incorrect by a shattering sound coming from the kitchen. My eyes widened and I tried opening the door, but of course it was locked. I then remembered what I did in my dream, so I quickly ran to a window and tried breaking it, but my small and weak body had no chance in destroying that window. Instead I just hurt myself and got quite a nasty bruise, but at that moment I didn't care because I had to find a way out or a place to hide. Given the fact that I couldn't find any exit I just had to hide, so I snuck under the couch. I knew it wasn't the best hiding spot and I just felt like an idiot, thinking I was safe there. Not too soon after the door opened and I was shaking excessively as I saw the pair of feet walk past the couch. I gulped, trying to calm myself, but the person just stopped right in front of the couch and I felt myself starting to tear up. I was imagining every possible outcome that could possibly happen, every single way that person was going to torture and kill me.

In one swift motion the person knelt down and I was face to face with a young man with black hair and bright grey eyes. The man raised a brow and asked me with a surprisingly calm voice:" What are you doing here? Did I leave the door unlocked again? I am really sorry if I scared you, but you can come out now, I won't eat you." He laughed after he finished that sentence, seeming a little odd. Given the fact that I had no other choice but to come out of my hiding space, I did so. As I now stood there, looking up at the tall, young man he started speaking once more:" Sit down and make yourself comfortable. I'd like to talk to you." He pointed to the couch and I awkwardly walked to where he pointed, sitting down. The mans skin was awfully pale but it looked surprisingly smooth. I stared at him for quite a while and he just stared back before he started speaking again:" So... what are you doing here, lost ?" I just shook my head no. "Then why are you here?"

"I...I live here." I finally decided to answer. I didn't feel like it was a good idea to tell some stranger why I was in the forest or who, let alone what I am. As long as he didn't know what I was I thought I would be ok. "That's odd." the man said, looking at me,"I haven't seen you around, I've been here for a little now. Maybe 2 months?" He laughed and smiled at me. Just then I saw his teeth. They were similar to those of an animal, maybe canine teeth, which was even odder. He wasn't a normal person, that's for sure.

He then looked at me, tilting his head "Say, do you want anything to drink or somethi-" right at that moment the man got cut off by a loud banging coming from the front door. He sprinted to the window and peeked out, his happy expression turning into a frightened one. My stomach started turning as I was sure that something very bad was outside. The young man huffed as he grabbed ahold of my collar, pulling me up so I was face to face with him. I gulped as he started speaking to me "Did you bring this monster here?!" He dropped me after I shook my head no and he just spoke under his breath "Goddamnit, what do I do..."The man ran his hand through his hand, trying to think of what to do. While he was walking around nervously I checked the window of the cabin and what I saw probably terrified me more than him.

It was a creature, awfully similar to the one I saw in my dream and it slammed its arm against the window with a great force, making it crack. My eyes widened in shock and the young man grabbed my shoulder, shouted something and pulled me back rather harshly. I didn't understand what he shouted at me since I was paralysed of seeing that creature.

He yanks me down the corridor, into the bedroom. There, he throws me into the closet, hiding me in it. The man threw a couple of clothes onto me to hide me further, the scent of the clothes covering my scent a little further. Shaken I sit in the closet, the doors being shut on me by the man, I cower, hugging my knees up closely. Was I going to die?

Soon enough one could hear the shattering of glass and heavy footsteps crashing in through the living room, through the corridor. The bedroom door was now the only thing keeping that monster away from the two of us. I gulp, less worried about myself, but instead more worried about the young male outside. He hadn't hid, as far as I could tell he was still outside of the closet, just... standing. The creature started to slam against the door, loud thuds echoing throughout the bedroom.

Suddenly I hear another window shatter, the doors of the closet shortly after that being pulled open again. The man grabbed ahold of me again, practically throwing me across the room. He firmly held onto my shoulders, now face to face with me.

"Can you run fast? You'll need to if you want to live." Before I could reply I was dragged along by my shirt and throws out a window, out into the woods. Soon enough I could hear the wooden door splinter as it broke and I started running off as fast as I could.

I ran for my life, panting heavily as I moved side to side to avoid running against a tree. Not too far behind me I could hear the same heavy footsteps crashing down onto the ground behind me. I cry out as black scales slowly start covering up my legs and arms, up along my body til I was completely covered up by them. By now I was practically like a dragon without wings, running on all fours. My tail whipped in the air behind me, scaring the creature off a bit.

I used that opportunity to sprint off even faster, reaching the edges of the woods. The scales start shedding off and I was running on two feet again, panting heavily as I reached the city. I feel how a few people stare at me, confused and slightly scared. I however ignore it in attempts to refrain myself from snapping quickly entering a bookstore, sitting down at a table to calm my panicked self.
