John...
Seeing Mary made me happy and nervous at the same time. Something about her brings out the goofy child in me but I always manage to quell that. Well at least manage to. She looked simple and modest.. She probably doesn't need make up. But either ways, I couldn't wait to see her. After getting ready, I came downstairs and was welcomed by a very familiar voice.
"Ma man" Josh welcomed me with a hug.
"What's up Joshy?"
"Dude really? "
"Come on joshy" I teased.
"I'm not playing with you man"
"welcome back Jay" I laughed as I shook his hand.
"Thanks, so where's the mystery girl aye" Josh said nudging my shoulder.
"She'll be down a bit"
"okay, okay, I see you..but seriously man, slow down, okay"
"Yeah...thanks."
"It's alright, anytime""Okay, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do any form of introduction" Anne said as she came downstairs" but Alice begged me so.... John, and uh friend, here's Mary."
My heart began to race as Anne called her name. At least I had a few seconds to prepare for how beautiful she'd look. Thanks to Alice.
And there she was.... Mary's hair well made in a puff, the make up was light with a dark red lipstick. Her beautiful big brown eyes filled with joy.
And the dress, was amazing on her. indeed she looked beautiful."Well damn! " I turned to Josh. My eye brows cringed.
"What? She's hot man. Just so you know if you ruin your chances with her, I'm going after her and if that eventually happens, don't forget I told you so. I'm just giving you a heads up."
"Dude seriously? "
"what I'm just saying, you guys aren't technically a thing so-"
"That's a no go area and I'm serious about that"
"whoa slow down tiger." I laughed at my friend knowing full well that I wasn't joking.Mary came down, and I was speechless.
"Hi I'm Joshua, John's best friend, but you can call me Josh " he reached out for a handshake, and for a moment I felt tempted to slap his hand away from Mary's.
"Hi nice to meet you, Josh" she said.
"Y-You look great! Sorry, you look great" I cursed myself for my nervous out burst.
"Thanks, you're not too bad yourself." She said to me smiling."Hey guys! " Alice said running down the stairs in a beautiful gold lace dress, and her hair in a beautiful curly wave. she looked very beautiful.
"You're going to ruin your dress" I said to her worried about her dress more than she seemed.
"Stop staring at me Josh it's weird, and don't forget I have a boyfriend just to be clear. "
"Now hold on first of all, I am not the only one staring at you and second of all how does you having a boyfriend have anything to do with me?"
"It doesn't I know, but the way you stare is weird, you know you have a crush on me"
" Had! a past tense and I was like what, eleven!"
"Whatever dude just stop staring""unbelievable, I didn't even get the chance to compliment!"
"You don't have to, I know I look good honey"
Mary and I laughed as Josh threw his hands up in defeat.
"Well you look beautiful Alice"
"Thank you Mary and you look amazing, my brother is totally drooling his just hiding it."
Indeed I was.
"Really Alice?" I said, hiding my embarrassment.
"What it's the truth""You look great" I said to Alice.
"Thanks Big Bro. So... I don't have a date and I'm guessing Joshy you don't, and since Mary and John are dates, we get to be dates,"
"Oh hell no! You talk too much!"
"Ouch, rude, but I'm taking that as a compliment, come on ball boy let's give these two a moment" Alice grabbed josh's arm, dragging him out. I heard Mary giggle, as Josh warned Alice to stop calling him Joshy. It made me smile."You look great." I said to Mary.
"Didn't you say that before?" she said. I smiled at her nervously.
"That's because I mean it. You look beautiful"
"Thank you John. You look good too"
"So shall we? "I said stretching out my arm.
"We shall" She said, taking hold of my arm.
She looked really good. Happy. She's happy, this is worth it. I thought to myself.
She's the only reason I'm excited to go for this ball.

Mary....
I was shocked at how good they made me look... I've never been to prom but this is way beyond prom. I got to get dressed by an amazing stylist. Make up and hair by talented people.... Somebody PLEASE wake me up from this dream! I'm totally kidding NO BODY should dare. This is totally a dream that I wouldn't want to wake up from. It's all too good to be true.
My thoughts kept cartwheeling.
My were emotions foreign, but they felt right. I've never smiled this much since, well since I started staying with Luke.
Luke, no, no thoughts about Luke tonight. Tonight I get to look and feel beautiful. Tonight I get to be happy. As Anne came back from giving Alice her dress, she said to me.
"Okay Alice wants me to announce your entrance, down the stairs, so, are you okay with it? "
"Announce my entrance? Why?"
"Well she says it'll be a lot cooler than you just walking down unexpected"
"uh-"
"To be honest you don't have a choice, she said I should do it even if you say no and even if it means she'll hold you down to wait."
"What?" I laughed shaking my head, at the thought of Alice holding me down.
"Yep that's Alice for you.. So you're fine with it? "
"Yeah. I, don't have a choice as you said."I was nervous at first, but seeing John... Made me feel a bit comfortable. After all, he's the reason why all this is happening. I honestly don't know how to thank him. Thank God for John.
We got into the limo, while Alice and Josh kept arguing about how Alice and John were always calling him Joshy and how kindergarten days were long gone and over.
"They'll get tired of it" John said to me, and I smiled.
I started feel to feel like Cinderella. Literally, even though I didn't exactly have a prince.
I hope something won't make me run off by twelve mid night. Smiling, I thought to myself.
I obviously have to return the dress and the shoe though.
I might as well enjoy this night, it's probably my first and last.Mary's dress.
Alice's dress.
But you can imagine it however😊
