"Princess Hope," I look up at my chamber door to see Daniel enter.

"Daniel." He walks closer and takes a seat across from me at the table.

The Alpha smirks but his eyes shine with concern. "Are you okay? What happened?"

I set down the book about Northern Packs that Queen Mac lent to me. "Dad sent a letter to Queen Mac."

He settles a serious stare my way. "What did it say?"

A nasty grimace forms on my face "He gave us three days to leave when the letter arrived, today we only have one day left."

Daniel sucks in a breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. "What will we do?"

"He can't take me away. Separating mates is forbidden by werewolf law." I glare down at my clenched fists. "If I can just explain to him everything, I think he will understand."

Daniel lifts his eyes to mine, "He never could say no to you." He rubs his chin in thought. "No matter how many times you disobeyed the rules, King Alpha Michael always forgave you easily."

"We could use that to our advantage." The two of us look at each other. "Do you think it will work, Daniel?"

"You're the pure and innocent Princess of the Southern Kingdom." Daniel sends me a sly smirk. "It will work." The Alpha stays for a few more minutes before taking his leave. Daniel turns around, the door slightly ajar. "Hey Hope," he frowns "Are you okay?"

"Yes?" I tilt my head to the side in confusion.

He leans back on his foot with a narrowed gaze. "Your skin is flushed."

"Probably a small cold from my adventure." The two of us laugh. "The world beyond the Wall is almost mystical."

"Ah huh," Daniel shakes his head, a smile forming on his lips. "You know I want to hear about your adventure with the Lycans. Everest says she can't remember anything from your crazy feast with them."

I chuckle, "I can't either. I don't know what that means but I'm happy I met Magnus and his people. They are truly kind."

The Alpha nods and opens the door wider. "Get some rest, Princess."

I watch as Daniel finally leaves. The heavy wooden door thuds softly behind him. A lock twists into place, it echoes in the now quiet room. Overwhelming pressure begins to rise after I gather my bearings. The plan we created might work but it's a long shot. All I can do is pray to Moon Goddess that my Dad approves.

Wincing, I press a hand to my lower back with a pained gasp. For the last hour that Daniel had been inside my chamber, I had tried to hide the staggering pain, but now I let the mask fall. I sigh heavily and breathe in and out deeply while slowly settling down into my chair. The constant ache of cramps started last night and the pain has steadily increased.
