McKayla's POV:
"How was you're meeting?" I asked.
"Could've gone better." He sighs. "My pride has just gotten too big to apologize anymore and it's kicking me in the ass now." He adds. He wasn't wrong, the more successful he became his ego grew, but he was still a respectable driver. "What do I do?"
"What would Peyton do?" I questioned. "Nothing is wrong with you, you're priorities are just out of focus," I added. This comment caused Ryan to think, his body leaned against the door frame.
"She would suck it up and move forward."
"And?"
"And apologize." He sighs. "I'm so glad our kids have your temper and selfless thinking, they'd be a mess if they didn't."
"Speaking of temper, Noah got sent home from school today. Some kid was talking about you and Noah didn't like it."
"Noah beat him up?"
"I mean he hit and pushed him, not a full-blown out fight."
"As much as I am proud of him, he should've known better."
"He understands that, but you should still talk to him," I say.
"Alright, I will." He nods. "I'm going to try and call Emma."
| Texas- Saturday Qualifying |
@nascar: It's official! @mckaylablaney will co-host Trackside Live next season!
Comments:

@teampenske: Congrats @mckaylablaney
@bubbawallace: I call being first guest 🙋🏾♂️
@chaseelliott: @bubbawallace my sister, I call dibs
@mckaylablaney: I'm so excited! Can't wait!"Good luck sweetheart," I called out as Ryan went out for qualifying. I stayed in the motor home with the kids who were about half asleep from a long day of playing outside in the blazing Texas sun. Summerlyn and Briella were about asleep laying on the rug in the front room. Noah was wide awake watching as qualifying took place, and Jordyn was crawling around getting into cabinets and everything in her sight.
Ryan tried calling Emma (Turner) a few days ago, but she didn't answer. Ryan left a voice mail saying he wanted to move on from the past, but he'd never heard back from her.
The first round of qualifying went by slowly, but Ryan and the 12 team moved on in the 7th position. The second round, a little shorter, Ryan improved his previous time, finishing that round 2nd.
"Ryan Blaney will win the pole for tomorrow's race!" The announcers exclaimed. Noah bursts out in cheers and claps his hands, making Summerlyn and Briella wake up from a short nap.
| Race Day |
After pre-race ceremonies, I took the kids up to the suite Penske was in. Roger and a bunch of sponsors were gathering there, we were trying our best to do damage control ever since that video leaked of Emma and Ryan's fight last weekend.
