Gloomy days in the frosty chill,
Sat under the tored blanket with a book in hand,
With each sip of my tea recalling days with emotions fill,
Who cursed I won't have my 18 b'day grand.

In the same old perpetual depressing days,
I went outside only to see the dark snow around,
I have lost the spark in my eyes, my matron says,
I being ugly with no one sheltering me and my wound.

The next day I see the sun a lot brighter,
I heard I'm finally adopted by a kind pair,
I was over the moon since my heart was feeling lighter,
They said, call us mom-dad since I'm now their heir.

After an year D-Day came I've been waiting since long,
I've my old and new family get together,
I've now turned 18 and strong,
I've my best b'day blast giving me my feather.
