It has been a few years now that my childhood dog had passed away, my thoughts still around him, he was the most amazing pet anyone could have asked for.
After finding a stable job and having my own home, I felt like something was missing and seeing these people with their pets, I decided to head to the animal shelter and get myself a new pup.
I open the door, the bell ringing, making the dogs bark:
"Hi miss, how can I help you ?" an employee comes up to me
"Hi, I'm looking for a young dog, after I''m not really sure what type of dog but I know it wouldn't be a massive one. And I'm looking for a dog that has a popping personality, possibly male" I say as she nods at my requests
"Well if you'll follow me, I will lead you to our dogs, now these dogs are a few months old but aren't a year old yet so they'll need a lot of training" she says as we enter the room
When I enter the room, there are already some people looking at other dogs, all different shapes and sizes, all jumping and yapping around.
I browse, looking at the other dogs when I land on a sweet husky that seems to be alone in his corner, kind of like me sometimes.
I slowly walk up to him, putting my hand out as he smells it, his tail wagging as he jumps up:
"I see you've found your match" I turn around to find a very attractive man, his smile making my mind think things I shouldn't
"Yeah, I guess I have" I say, holding the pup in my arms as he licks my face, making me giggle
"What are you looking for ?" I ask, curious
"I'm looking for a female German Shepard"
"Cop dogs, aren't they ?" I answer
"That's right, I'm Luke" he says with a smile
"Y/N. So let me guess, you work in law enforcement ?" I ask
"I'm part of the BAU, as a profiler" he says, my eyes suddenly wide open
"Wow, that must be a lot of work" I say
"It's worth it" he says
"How about I help you look ?" I say
He nods as we start looking around, he starts talking about his job and what he is like when I hear a cry: a small german shepard
"Aw, look at her !" I saw as he bends down, leaning his hand toward her.
She licks it, he takes her in his arms, making her seem so small in his strong arms;
"She's perfect" he says with a smile, looking up at me
"Have you found what you needed ?" the employee comes back
"Yeah, I have, Luke, I'll be right back" I say as he nods, still holding the pup as I head to the husky.
She brings him out of the enclosure, he runs up to me, jumping in my arms.
After a while, a lot of paperwork and objects for the dog, I turn and find that Luke had disappeared.
He mustn't have been interested.
I walk out of the shelter, the dog following me out when I see Luke leaning against the wall, his new dog at his feet, lying when all of a sudden she gets excited:
"I thought you left" I say, approaching him
"Please, I would never leave with getting your number, beautiful" he says with a smile, making me blush
We start talking when I feel the lead pulling me toward him:
"I think he likes Roxy, and he's not the only one to like someone" he says with a smile, making me blush
"Roxy ? That's a nice name" I say as we keep talking.
We decide to head to the park and that's when I first met Luke and Roxy...
