It was Monday morning again, and Gertrude was getting ready for school. She really didn't do much to her appearance, because no matter what she did, she just kind of remained ugly. Oh well, the weekend had been a nightmare. Harry's dad, Stan, was over all day, every day at this point, and him and Giselle were getting down - like down-down all the time. Gertrude had just stayed in her room the entire weekend, because her soul was made for being lonely. She had thought about Harry's plan, and the more she thought about it, the more it didn't make sense. Why did they have to pretend to be girlfriend and boyfriend? I mean, why couldn't they just pretend like they didn't know each other as usual? And how would them being together cover the fact, that their parents were getting married? Yeah, all pretty smart questions, but Gertrude forgot that this is fan fiction, and logic doesn't play a major role in that.
Gertrude was scared. She didn't know how Harry wanted to carry out his plan. Would he come pick her up, to go to school? Would they have to hold hands in the hallway? This was all too much for Gertrude's pure ass to handle.
She didn't have to wonder much more though, before the door bell downstairs rang. She jumped up from her uncomfortable bed, hopped over the still ruined door, and ran downstairs. Oh yes, there behind the glass front door she saw Harry's tall, lean body stand in the early morning's darkness. She opened the door carefully. There he stood in all his glory. Leather jacket over his black, holed, tight tee. Black skinny jeans with tears, and his chunky, customized, black Doc Martens with rivets all over them. Even Gertrude aka Virgin Mary 2.0 couldn't lie, and tell that the sight in front of her wasn't hot as fuuuu...
"I guess, now we're pretending to be girlfriend and boyfriend, I could drive you to school, like a real gentleman, eh?" Harry said. Gertrude swooned. Harry had never been this nice. She was actually starting to like him. "I wouldn't love any other thang," she replied, and let Harry follow her down to his car, which was a big ass Jeep. They drove the 10 minutes to school, and Gertrude couldn't stop, but look at Harry. He had black sunglasses on, even though it was pitch black outside, but he was just THAT cool.
When they parked at the school's parking lot, Gertrude got hit by a wave of panic. What now? Would they be holding hands, and following each other to their classes, or going each their way to their first class? Gertrude didn't have to decide, before Harry took his big, rough hand in her smaller, soft, totally luscious hand. Gertrude was internally freaking out, but was trying to be calm, which she was very bad at.
When they entered the school's hallway, it was like every thing started to move in slow motion. Everyone's head's turned from talking to their friends, to staring at Harry and Gertrude with open mouths. Harry removed his sunglasses, and flicked his curls back with his hand, that wasn't holding Gertrude's. He smirked while looking forward. Gertrude blushed. Everyone were pointing at them. She had never in her life got this much attention. She smirked to herself, starting to grow confident, swinging her hips like a Victoria's Secret model down the hall. But then she saw Liam Payne, standing around the corner. His books dropped from his tight grip, and she could see sadness, no disappointment, no frustration forming on his face. He quickly stormed off like an angry child. Pathetic.
This day was nothing like any other days in Gertrude's life. Suddenly all the attention was on her. In class all the boys winked at her, and the girls rolled their eyes when she walked by, and sighed. They were jealous, that she got the prey, they had set their hungry eyes on. If only they knew, that she and Harry actually weren't together. At lunch she ate at the popular kids' table, where Harry also sat. They talked about football, cheer, and other stuff that Gertrude had no idea about, but it didn't matter, because they were popular, and she was sitting with them. Harry wasn't talking either. He just sat, and stared at her. She blushed, and looked down, playing with the buttons on her ugly, pink cardigan.
It had been the best day of her life, and Gertrude was over the moon by the end of the day. She was standing at Harry's locker waiting for him to come, so he could drive her home. She had waited for 10 minutes now. Maybe his class was just going a little over time. That happens... Right?
After 20 minutes of waiting, Gertrude decided to freshen up in the girl's bathroom, so she could look extra good, when Harry finally would come. Sadly, there wasn't much about her appearance that could be bettered, but it's always nice trying. But when she opened the door to the bathroom, she had a nasty surprise.
There at the sink, the school's most popular girl; (and in Gertrude's generalizing opinion, the most filthy and scandalous girl) Jenna and Harry were making out...
