Nico sat on the edge of his bed, his feet flat on the cushioned carpet. He said goodbye to one of his best friends, named Will, and turned off his PlayStation. His eyes were full of baggage just like the weight on his shoulders. He moaned and groaned as he turned the light off into darkness.
The internal night lightened to the sense of day as the sun peeked through the blinds of his shady window. Beep, beep, beep! His phone screamed his eardrums into next Saturday. A whimper struck from his mouth just as the fog cleared from the senses of his vision. God, I don't want to go to freaking school! The voice inside his head screamed. However, he had to. There was no other way around it.
He pulled into his usual spot of 134. Flashes of pages from his book ignited the gears within his head. 134 Accident Street scanned through the endless torment of thoughts through his mind in a never-ending cycle. Jack then appeared in his mind. The mere thought of his name sent chills down his spine. Why does it all feel so real? The same question rewinded on a tape recorder until his head was about to implode.
Walking to the end of main street, was room 134. The class that started it all. The class that ended it all.
He recalled Jack's words just before he pressed the button. The drug you injected yourself with has more than just super cocaine in it. It's also packed with micro-celled bombs manufactured that can blow all of you to bits with the press of this button. Everything happened so sudden and so fast that he almost forgot what happened.
The door slowly creaked open, the sound of an old-wooden floor being stepped upon. Just below his feet, lied the red button. The button Jack used to blow up all of his friends into millions of pieces. The button that blew them all of the way. The one button that changed the course of history. Why does a book I wrote feel all so real? It's fiction! Fiction isn't real! He kept telling himself while shredding pieces of hair out of his skull. He stopped for a minute to think. That's all Mr. Koewler told them to do. All he had to do was take a minute and just think. Wait a minute. I don't have school today. The sudden realization occurred once the entire school blew to kingdom come, every last bit of material burned to ashes.
His eyes jolted wide open. He couldn't remember anything. It was like a wall was built inside his head with no way to smash his way to the other side. What if Jack is still out there? What if someone is watching me? Nico was completely delusional to think such a thing, but he is right about one thing. There is someone watching him. Every last move.
It was just a book. It never happened. It isn't real. It was just a book. It never happened. It isn't real. Tears struck his eyes until his mother slammed the door open. He wiped the tear away with his index finger, only for his mom to wrap her arm around his shoulder. He tried to hide it, but it was pointless. He wanted to know. He wanted to know everything.
His mom asked," Oh honey, are you ok?" He nodded giving a subtle smile on his face," well, it's time to take your meds," his brows lowered, forehead wrinkling like the waves in an ocean. She pulled out a bottle named "Zyprexa" and handed me two small pills with a glass of water. Nico smiled again as she closed the door behind her. He glanced at the two pills. Come on Nico, don't take it! It'll only hurt me and not you. Without any hesitation, he threw the pills onto the floor, blending in with the tall strands of carpet like specs of grass.
Pulling out his laptop, Nico opened wattpad up to copy and paste the new chapter he just had written. He couldn't help but read the many comments that popped up on the screen. The majority of them being swell all, but one.
I know who you are Nico. I know who all of you are. Suddenly, he slammed his computer shut. His hands continuously trembling as a tornado ran through his central nervous system. Someone was watching him. Someone was watching all of them. Maybe I just need some sleep. Switching the lights off again, he pulled the covers over his goose-bumped body.
