Part 1
Chapter 1
New life, new school, and my dad's new job is what brought me to this very moment.

Bridgewood high, the place where I was to start again. I stare up at the large but basic building before me. Despite the formalities of me moving constantly, I still felt the similar chills that run down my back as I walked into the large building. Gazing and all the new faces, I felt a rush of nausea come over me.

I began to walk towards where a student had helpfully pointed as the principles office when I heard an oddly familiar voice. "Tara?, Tara Marks?" I spun my head to see a similarly familiar face. Stood in front of me was a tall olive skinned girl. Her long, wavy, dark hair cascaded over her shoulders revealing dark blue highlights which were carefully tucked into the back. One side of her hair was tucked roughly into her ear revealing several gold piercings in her ears.

"Hey its me Zaheera," she began "we met at dance camp a few years ago, remember!" it suddenly hit me. I would remember that sense of style anywhere, the thought occurred as I eyed her sparkly high tops.

"Oh, hey." I say timidly.

"When did you move here?" she asked enthusiastically.

"Like two weeks ago."

"That's so cool!" She exclaimed flicking her hair over her shoulder. Just then the bell rung Zaheera asked me about my timetable, at discovering that I needed one she happily decided to play tour guide. "It gives me an excuse to be late." She said happily grasping my wrist and dragging me along the corridor.

I noticed a group of loud guys chatting and laughing whilst the rest of the corridor started becoming less crowded. We started to aproach them.

"Hey Zee, sup!" a blonde shaggy haired boy yelled after her. His crystal eyes shining. He was actually really cute. He was wearing a polo shirt and khaki shorts. Despite his lively attitude he dressed very classy.

"Hey Kyle where's Kiara or Cara or God knows what the fuck her name was..." she replied

"Cynthia, oh we broke up she was hooking up with some junior." He threw the words effortlessly.

"Sorry babe," Zaheera stuck out her bottom lip mockingly wrapping Kyle into an embrace.

"Stop that" Kyle shoved her arms off playfully.

"I know you love me... " Zaheera said in a sing song voice. "That's why I'm your best friend.

"Unfortunately" Kyle muttered.

Zaheera slapped him on the back of the head causing everyone around them to laugh.

"Who's your friend?" Kyle asked rubbing the back of his head.

"This is Tara she moved here from.."

"Boston," I answered quickly

"Boston." She repeated.

I watched suddenly feeling self conscious as Kyle looked me up and down with obvious dissaproval. So I admit I don't dress like I've just come out of vogue. I gazed down at my baggy jeans and a T-shirt saying 'Save the Wales' on the front agreeing with his judgmental look. I felt extremely underdressed next to Zaheera and her crop top saying '#smize' as well as the fact that every other girl here wore either skinnies or a cheerleading uniform; I felt incredibly out of place. I gave Kyle a shy grin to which he replied with a large smile. Reaching out his hand I took it and shook as he shook it vigorously.

"Nice to meet you this is Mike and Harry." He gazed towards his friends who nodded towards me. I simply smiled at them.

"Alrighty we got to go get Tee here to the Principle's office." Zaheera waved at the extremely rowdy bunch, linked her arm with mine as we continued to find the office. My phone beeped and I looked at the message which flashed across the screen: have a great day!!! :) x lol mom
I laughed softly at my moms attempts to be cool. She thinks lol means lots of love.

Suddenly I felt light as the impact from a large slab of a person made me loose my balance. "Oof!" I felt myself begin to fall, quickly I closed my eyes preparing for impact until I heard a voice say "It's okay you can open your eyes now." I opened my eyes to discover that I was not on the ground but in the arms of a tall dark haired guy. Cliché right? I stood upright straightening my top stuttering as I tried to conjure up a 'thank you'. Nice work Tara, make a fool of yourself infront of the really hot guy.

"Your welcome," he said a smirk growing across his face.

"um..." was all that seemed to come out of my mouth as I stared into his dark blue eyes.

I felt lost in his eyes until Zaheera's voice seemed to have found me pretty quickly. "We have to go or we'll be late," Zaheera cut in, "thanks for saving my friend Mason but we gotta go. Ciao!" I'm not very sure but I felt a sense of hostility in Zaheera's words towards Mason. I've never felt so happy to leave a conversation though, if you could call that little encounter a conversation.

Eventually we reached the principle's office. After he briefed me and gave me my schedule I came outside to find Zaheera reading a magazine. After seeing me she packed it away and we began to walk towards our home room. "Thanks for saving me back there" I turned to Zaheera once we left the office.

"No stress," she answered looking at herself in a pocket mirror "it was kinda getting awkward and Mason is bad news. She added whipping out her lipgloss and applying a new layer.

"How do you know?" I asked curiously.

"Because I've dated him." She says without hesitation and shutting her mirror.

"What?" I ask in disbelief. Before I can ask her more about it we arraived at room 29, home room.
