The air was cold and the peak of Halloween was upon all of them, they were dressed in silly costumes that were sexual and corny. They were laughing hysterically, pushing each other and telling jokes, trading candy among one another, and just enjoying the chilly October night. They knew they were going to have school tomorrow, but they pushed it to the back of their skulls and continued to walk along the paved sidewalk. They were oblivious to my observing.
I was quiet and well hidden in the flourishing green shrubs that lined this unknown humans yard. They'd never see me anyway.
I tightened my grip on the axe that was cold to my fingertips, the wood handle was so old that cracks had gouged into the sleek finish of the handle.
Blood pumped into my veins at thousands of miles per second, my heart thumped like a bass drum that was being beat by a hammer, you could probably hear it from a mile away. I was ecstatic, and I was scared too. I'm actually doing it!
They stopped a few feet in front of the shrubs I were residing by. The girls were carelessly complimenting the men and how well they looked in their costumes. I hated people that kissed asses to get what they want. Just shows how insecure they are.
The moon glowed down on me and my prey, my sandy hair glittered in the dim light and the blade of the axe gave off an edgy look. I couldn't help but smile, the time was now.
I started to stand up from my squatting position and slowly and quietly stalked towards the group. They're backs were turned from me and I easily crept upon them not making a single noise. I had my axe slightly raised ready to swing if I was to be interrogated by the boy's fists.
The world around me froze as I lifted my arms high above my head, holding the rusted axe with might. I focused on the square of the boy in front of men's back. His shoulder blades stuck out of his shirt and they tensed every breath he took. I closed my eyes and squeezed them tightly, too scared to gaze at what I'd be doing. I sucked in a long breath and all at once, I swung everything down. The pain, the fear, the ecstasy feeling in my veins. And a skull splitting scream erupted into the October night.
