Genevieve was walking through the hallways of the house as she remembered the memories she had in the house she shared with her husband Geoffrey for 30 years.
"Mi Amor, are you happy there?" The woman asked to nobody as her Mi Amor has died 2 weeks before and they had finished the funeral rites. She closed her eyes.
FLASHBACK
Genevieve was chasing her children across the hall when Geoffrey appears out of nowhere
"Geoffrey! You scared Mi Amor. What are you doing here? I thought you had work?""Well it turns out my wife was playing with little Henrietta here and I thought why would I allow you to have fun by yourself" the man explained as he carried the little Henriette and spun her until she got tired. He sat her down as she fell asleep and took his wife's hand in his and lead her to their bedroom.
"A rose for you" he said as he presented his wife a red rose like the day before. The man made it a point to give his wife a flower everyday for the 9 years they've been married
"Geoffrey, you don't need to give me a rose everyday, we've been married for 9 years. Most husbands don't give their wives' roses" she said as she gently accepted the rose. She didn't want to make her husband feel the pressure of giving her a rose everyday.
"And most husbands doesn't love their wives as much as I love you, You are my life and a mere rose isn't enough to show you how much I love you, but at least let me make you feel loved bit by bit everyday"
And yes Geoffrey has made it a point that his wife will receive a rose ,even at his deathbed, for the next 30 years.
END OF FLASHBACK
Genevieve opened her eyes as tears were about to fall. She hated knowing that 2 weeks ago that was her last rose from her husband. Just as she was going to close her eyes again, someone pressed the doorbell. She went ahead to open the front door.
"Mrs. Genevieve Ortega? There is a delivery for you, do you mind signing here?" The man said
Genevieve was confused, she didn't order anything but the man got her name right. She just signed the order form and then the man handed her a rose.
"From Mr. Geoffrey Ortega, he said that he loved you so much" the man said
Either this man was playing a trick on her or her husband was back
"Oh my husband died, there is no need to give a rose" Genevieve explained
"No Ma'am, Mr. Geoffrey paid a lifetime agreement to give you a red rose everyday until you, God forbid, joined him, so this was a preordered deal Ma'am" the man explained
"Here is a letter as well"02/18/2019
Dear Genevieve,
Love I hope you appreciate this little effort I did for you. I am at my deathbed and I wish for you to accept my love for you in the form of a rose. See I shall fulfill my promise. I love you forever my Genevieve. And if you fall in love again, know that I accept it, love someone without being burdened by the thought of me. Just please accept the rose everyday.
Yours,
GeoffreyThe woman accepted the rose everyday for the remainder of her life. But she knew, no doubt in mind she will never love someone as much as her husband.
