A/N oops

It's finally time for James' work party. I can't say that I'm not excited for it, because I am. As long as there's dancing and food I'm excited.
The party is at 6:30pm tonight, so naturally I woke up at 8 am.
How else am I supposed to have enough time to stress out about meeting all of these new people?
Anne comes into my room at 10 after breakfast to help me put my damp hair in curlers.
"You are going to look so beautiful tonight! You're going to knock the boys' socks off with your whole outfit!" She sighs while fiddling with a roller.
"She always looks beautiful, Mom!" A voice calls from outside my door.
"Evan, get out of here! Go clean your room or something!" Anne laughs.
"Why? It's not like the party is in my bedroom! In fact, it's not even at this house!"
"Just go," I smirk, "and maybe close my door so I don't get any more Peeping Toms."
The door shuts gently, but not before I hear Evan mutter, "You're not even naked."
"Boys." I see Anne shaking her head in the mirror in front of me. "I love them, but they're exasperating."
"Agreed."

The day continues, with me fussing over little things like the exact color of lipstick to match to my dress and the underwear that I would wear to kill the panty lines.
Most of the boys tried to sneak into my room at one point or another, but each time I would hide completely behind a blanket and force them to leave.
"Cal," I complain as I hold the blanket in front of me. "If the other boys didn't get to see what I'm wearing, then why should you?"
"I don't know, because you love me better than the other ones?"
"Who said I love you at all?" I can't help but smile as I say it.
I get nothing in response, and assume Cal left my room.
"Oh, I think you love me," he whispers in my ear, startling me. I yelp and let the blanket drop to the floor, whipping around to face him.
"Don't do that!"
"And why not?" He grins, one side of his smile higher than the other.
"Because I don't like being scared. Also, nobody was supposed to see my outfit yet. I didn't really care, but your mother wanted it to be a surprise."
Cal whistles, as if noticing my outfit for the first time. I'm wearing a navy blue cocktail dress with a halter top and a keyhole.
"What a hottie," he says dramatically, mock-fanning himself with his hand. "You'd better save me a dance tonight."
"I don't think I'd be able to get away from it. You aren't the only person to threaten to dance with me tonight." I comment, double-checking my hair and makeup in my mirror. "So there."
"Oh, I see how it is," he smirks.
"See you later, Cal," I hint.
"No," he says. "I'll see you later." Cal blows me a kiss and leaves my room.
"That...doesn't even make sense?" I ask, but he's already shut my door and left down the hallway.
Boys. I roll my eyes and go looking for my shoes.
