Showing me Up

"Don't you ever show me up like that again in front of a courtroom!" Nikki shouts as they re-enter the offices at the Lyell. She throws the bag down beside her desk and looks at Jack.

He frowns and storms over to his desk, he throws himself down in his chair and glares at her, "It wasn't my fault now stop!" He shouts.

"No! I am going to be your boss soon!" Nikki shouts trying to lay down the law with Jack, but he isn't having any of it.
With Thomas leaving Nikki decided it was time she became head of the department, although it was scaring her knowing she would have to stand and rise above everyone to lay down the law, something in her mind told her Jack wasn't going to listen to her that easily.

Jack huffs and watches her carefully, he felt like pushing her to see how far she would go, "Nikki, you're not head of the department for another week, stop getting too big headed" Jack smirks.

He loves to play with her emotions, it could only be the best way to have entertainment in his place. Nikki huffs and walks off through to Thomas's office where he is sat on the phone, Clarissa is sat beside the desk looking through case files minding her own business waiting for Thomas to come off the phone.

As soon as Thomas ends the call her turns and looks at Nikki, "Can I speak in private please Thomas?" Nikki smiles and he nods.
Clarissa respects their privacy and leaves the room, "I shall talk to you later" Clarissa smiles.

Nikki turns around once Clarissa has left the office and shuts the door, Nikki walks across to the desk and sits down opposite him. "What's the problem, Nikki?" He asks noticing that she seems to be on edge.

"it's Jack, I don't know if I can cope with him" She explains.
"Cope? Cope how?" Thomas asks.

Nikki looks at Jack through the blinds and quickly turns her head back when Jack makes eye contact with her, "He seems to go against me, I don't think he likes the idea of me becoming the head of the department" Nikki explains.

"Oh, he will warm to it in the end, look at how you reacted when I replaced Professor Dalton" Thomas replies.
She nods knowing he will have to learn to accept her new position, "I shall have a word with him if you like" He adds knowing they were arguing on coming back from a court case.

"It's alright Thomas I can deal with him" Nikki replies with a smile, she looks back through the blinds at Jack again.

Thomas nods and lets Nikki leave his office, "Okay, well if you want me to talk to him. You have a week" Thomas smiles.

Nikki stands and leaves the office and heads back out into the office area, "I shall be performing a post mortem on the body we brought in earlier, do you care to join me, Jack?" Nikki speaks in a professional manner.

Jack looks up for his work and nods slightly, "Oh...Okay" He speaks slightly worried by how she is talking to him. Jack rises from his chair and follows Nikki down to the scrub in area, he watches her wash her hands and begin to change into her white scrubs.
As much as Jack tries not to look he finds himself looking at her, he smiles slightly to himself as she takes he top off with her back to him.

He has to admit he has a slight crush on Nikki and that being in her presence as she changes were all a bit too much for Jack. Suddenly he turns around, slams his locker door shut and walks out into the cutting room to avoid Nikki.

Nikki jumps as he slams the locker door and turns to look at him, but before she can say anything Jack has hot-footed it away from her. "Right..." Nikki says completely baffled by his reaction.
