Part I
Red cups full of strong vodka fill my nostrils as I walk through the door as I walk into this huge estate. Sweaty bodies squish me as I try to find the person who hosted this shitty party.
I look in disgust as I see most of the kids from school being completely out of control, but I'm kind of use to it, or at least I should be by now. "Where the hell is Ryan?" I ask myself. As I scan the crowd, my eyes seem to spot his shaggy brown hair. I start to walk over to him, interrupting his conversation.
"Hey Roxy, what's up?" He asks me, looking a bit concerned. "I have to take Bella home, she called me about half an hour ago, going on and on about Nathan," I mumble the last words, but he seems to catch on to what I say. "She's still not over him huh?" he asks, already knowing the answer. "Given the fact of what he did to her, I wouldn't know how to cope with it either, but you're just a guy, you wouldn't understand." I'm quick when it comes to defending my best friend.
Bella is found upstairs in one of the guest rooms, throwing up the remains from what she ate earlier. I quickly grab Bella, trying to support her by hanging her arm on my shoulder, as I guide her down the cold stone stairs. She's heavier than I thought. I quickly walk us both to my black SUV. When we stop at the stop light, I glance over at Belle, who looks completely exhausted. I knew I would taught her out of going to that party, when her intentions were to make Nathan jealous anyway. Her parents would kill her if they saw how she looked right now.
When we arrive at my house, I quietly try to unlock the door to avoid my aunt or uncle waking up to be greeted by Bella reeking of booze. We make it quietly back to my room just in time before I heard light foot steps come closer and stopping at my bedroom, but began to move again to only use the bathroom.
Part II
The smell of coffee the annoying sizzle of bacon awakens me from my peaceful slumber and the sound of muffled voices coming from the kitchen. I look over to my right to see Bella, that is snoring so loud, I'm surprised I hadn't woken up earlier.
I follow the angry whispers and it leads me to the kitchen where it seems to me that my aunt and uncle are arguing. "I just think that isn't a good idea Deryl, I mean-" she says before I interrupt her. "What isn't a good idea?" I say with curiosity in my voice. They immediately avert all of their attention to me, staring at me with scared expressions upon their faces. I know it's something serious when they give each other 'the look' where one of them has to tell me when something's wrong.
My aunt Veronica speaks up, "Sweetie, it's your mother," she pauses and breaks eye contact with me to look at the ground. "She is being released from prison." I'm speechless. The woman who abandoned me for 17 years, is now going to now going to be freed.
"Her attorney called me this morning, and said she was released at 3 A.M., she wants to see you first," "but that is completely up to you." My uncle finally says.
I don't have much time to process the situation when Bella walks into the kitchen, very confused and tired. "Good morning Bella." My aunt greets my best friend since fifth grade, with a with a warm smile. "Okay, well I'm off to work guys." She pecks my uncle on the lips and when the clicking of her high heels fades and the door slams shut, I know she's gone.
"I know this is very hard for you right now, and you have to make such quick decisions, but I trust you enough to make the right ones that benefit you," Uncle Deryl quickly kisses me on the cheek and pats my head. "We will talk about this later, but I've got to leave early and run some quick errands before I head to work."
"My head is pounding, got any aspirin?" Belle asks, rubbing her temples. "Yeah, I'll get it for you." I respond. "You never told me what happened last night." I yell from all the way in the bathroom. "Well, I saw Nathan dancing with Sidney, and I sorta got a little out of hand with my intake of alcohol." Belle explains. "Just a little huh?" I say with a hint of sarcasm. "Shut up," Bella playfully shoves me. "Oh, Niall asked if we could come to his party on Saturday after the football game, wanna come?" she says quickly. "C'mon Bella you know I don't go to parties anymore." I tell her with a serious tone. "I know but, everyone's going, and I want to get over Nathan." Bella pleads me with her convincing story. One little party wouldn't hurt. Anything to distract me from my mother returning to Gledgington Falls.
