"Fuck! He—he got my fucking shoulder!"

Namjoon scrambles up to his feet in shock, tugging his coats around himself that he had pushed aside and staring in fear as Seokjin pins the unconscious human beneath him while clutching his shoulder in pain.

"S-Seokjin!" Namjoon rushes over and presses a hand against his mate's back, eyes round. "What the hell happened? Are—oh my God..."

"It's just a normal bullet," Seokjin spits out, standing and ignoring the look of alarm that flickers across Namjoon's face at the sheer amount of blood pumping from his wound. "I'll be fine."

"B-but he shot you, Seok," Namjoon whispers, looking down frightfully at the hunter who passed out, probably from Seokjin slamming his fist against his head hard enough for him to black out.

"Werewolves heal fast," Seokjin grunts out, looking at his shoulder and groaning. "I haven't felt a bullet in a while, fuck..."

Namjoon carefully presses his hands against Seokjin's bicep and gulps. "A-are you okay? Can you walk?"

"He shot my shoulder, not my legs." Seokjin mutters and kicks his foot down into the snow. "Get on."

Namjoon takes a step back and allows Seokjin to shift into his wolf form, the huge snowy creature bowing his head so that Namjoon can clamber on top of his back, curling his fingers into his soft pelt, staring at the bloody wound that remained there. Seokjin continues to lower his head and snatch up the hunter's still body into his jaws easily, and attempting not to limp, Seokjin walks back home.

Namjoon rests his head as Seokjin limps back home, guiltily stealing glances at Seokjin's expression. The wolf seems calm, his snout dipping into the snow as he purposely dragged the human's body in the snow just to be petty, and Seokjin huffs when Namjoon presses a gentle kiss to his fluffy neck.

"I'll make sure you're taken care of." Namjoon murmurs softly, hugging into his scuff and nuzzling his fur that smelled strongly of campfire smoke and fragrant, sweet herbs.

"A bullet wound is nothing compared to what I've dealt with in the past, Joonie." Seokjin's voice is deep, gruff as he speaks in his wolf form, and Namjoon snickers. "You shouldn't worry."

A silence takes over their trip back to camp, and Namjoon closes his eyes. "What're you gonna do with him?"

"Kill him." Seokjin responds without hesitating. "And leave him in front of his campsite where his family and friends can see him."

"Gruesome."

"That's how we work around here, baby, you gotta get used to it." Seokjin responds with a chuckle and Namjoon wrinkles his nose.

"Why can't you just let him go or something?" Namjoon frowns. "I'm pretty sure he can't do much harm."

Seokjin drops the human in his jaws and turns his head, his dark chestnut colored eyes fixing on Namjoon, and Namjoon shifts on his back, feeling sheepish under his gaze. "He's a hunter, darling. He can do a lot of harm if we let him go. Giving him and his friends a warning is better than to let him go and give them a target."

Namjoon rests his cheek on Seokjin's back, closing his eyes. He feels Seokjin shift around, and he begins walking again, and Namjoon feels the jolt of his muscles every time he walks.

"H-have you been shot a lot?" Namjoon asks.

"Several."

"..."

"Why do you ask?"

"Seems like it'd hurt, but you're acting like it's nothing."

Seokjin chuckles again and pushes through some undergrowth, and Namjoon sees the soft warm glow of the camp's light, ducking his head when some branches tug against his messy brown locks. "You have to remember I'm not human." Seokjin drops the hunter and lets Namjoon slide off his back before shifting back, and Namjoon blinks in surprise. The wound has already sealed up, and Namjoon meets the werewolf's eyes.

"Jisoo'll have to cut it open and get the bullet out." Seokjin sighs.

"Well then you should've come quicker."

The two turn around to see Jisoo emerge from the shadows, expression taut.

"Jisoo." Seokjin blinks. "What are you doing here?"

"I was looking for you, when I heard the gunshot." Jisoo leads them back into the campsite. "Everyone did. We were all worried sick, the Luna was with you, Taehyung's in rut, and I don't have enough time to take care of the pack and watch over every wolf."

Seokjin juts out his lip. "Sorry." He mutters.

"We were stargazing." Namjoon interjects chirpily, and Jisoo just sighs.

"That's nice," a tiny voice pipes up besides Namjoon and he turns to see Rose and Tae following in their human forms, with Tae hurriedly sniffing around Seokjin's healed wound. "I wanna go stargazing with my mate one day!"

Namjoon giggles and pinches Rose's cheek, and the girl puffs them out before hopping onto Seokjin's back and instantly being scolded by a very serious-looking Tae, who is worriedly checking over Seokjin despite the wolf looking like nothing happened.

"Tae, remember not to look so worried." Jisoo ruffles his hair and the five of them enter Jisoo's den. "In a time of need, when someone's hurt, the last thing they want to see is the Healer looking panicked."

Tae blinked sheepishly and tried to relax his tense expression. "O-okay, I'll remember that." He sits back and lets Seokjin curl up on the leaf-woven sheets, and Jisoo presses a point on Seokjin's neck. The alpha growls out lowly, and Jisoo gives Namjoon a pointed look.

"It's a weak spot," Jisoo explains, and she removes her hand to reveal the mating mark that Namjoon had given him, "but you bit it right over where I have to feel his pulse, and mating marks shouldn't be touched by anyone other than his mate."

Namjoon's cheeks flushed. "Oh, I'm sorry—I didn't know at the t-time—!"

"It's fine," Seokjin mutters out, "it's just instinct."

Jisoo nods, pulling her fingers back and fetching a couple of tools and medicines, and she sits herself  besides the closed wound and looks up at Namjoon. She tips her head.

"I think you two should go now," Tae whispers, and Rose frowns.

"Why?"

Jisoo laughs. "You can stay but," she lifts up a tiny blade and a pair of scissors and tweezers, "it's going to get just a tiny bit messy."
