Jack sat beside Zach's hospital bed, no emotion plastered on his usual happy and cheerful face. He held Zach's hand tightly, laying his head on Zach's chest.

"Please, angel, wake up." he would whisper every minute. It had been four hours and Zach's heart was still beating painfully slow, but they had gotten the bullet out safely.

The bullet was so close to hitting Zach's heart, but it was like the angel's were speaking to him when they told him that it hadn't damaged his heart.

Jack just laid there, hoping his boy would wake up and grip back onto his hand.
