PART TWO – YOU LOOK PRETTY
No matter how creepy it made him feel-- made him look, Namjoon couldn't keep himself from staring. You looked so pretty sitting there, a small smile on your face as you tapped away on your phone. How badly he wanted to be the one you were smiling about.
With a deep breath, he made his way over to you. Tae's words replaying with each step he took. Confidence. Confidence. He just needed to feign confidence. Fake it until you make it, right?
A frown would settle at your lips the moment the sunlight you were soaking in was blocked. Glancing up your eyes would find Namjoon standing there. Hands shoved in his pocket and a forced bored expression. Your eyebrow quirked.
He was speaking before you had the the chance to ask what he wanted."Hey, y/n! You look pretty!" His compliment caught you off guard. It was sudden. Your cheeks flushed slightly because who didn't like hearing that they were pretty?
It took you a moment to gather your composure, brow arching slightly as you eyed the boy standing in front of you suspiciously. "Thank you? Listen, I can't chat... I'm waiting on--"
"Sannie? Yeah, I know. I just wanted to talk about the project." To say that Namjoon was nervous would be an understatement. He was just hoping that it wasn't obvious. That he was able to elude confidence and you wouldn't catch on to the façade.
Straightening his back, he tried to seem uninterested. That's how the cool kids acted, right? Nothing phased them. God, he felt like he looked so stupid. Not to mention how he knew who you were waiting for. He just knew you thought he was a creep.
"Oh, right! We can do it again after school. My house this time, I live closer." The words were rushed from your lips. As if you wanted nothing more than for him to walk away. All Namjoon was able to do was nod, his upcoming sentence being cut off by an exaggerated squeal.
Sannie Hampton.
Without a second thought, the girl was pushing Joon to the side, grabbing both of your hands. The cool guy stance he had been trying so hard to keep was knocked right out of him. "We have so much to talk about!" Sannie was shouting as she pulled you away, leaving Namjoon to watch.
PART TWO – KEEP EM WAITING
You had expected Namjoon to approach you during class to go over the details for meeting up. He didn't. Forcing you to wait for him at the door. He had that stupid look on his face again, like he couldn't care less about what you were saying.
The two of you decided that you'd drive him to your house after class. There was no practice today so there was no sense in having him wait.
It was now ten minutes after the final bell. You stood by your car in the parking lot, waiting... it wasn't until five extra minutes passed did you see him. Clambering down the steps with his those two guys he was always with.
He smiled when he saw you. A large smile that showed his teeth, his dimples, eyes slightly closed. Cute.
You raised your hand to wave, dropping it quickly when he turned his back to you. You acted as if you were fixing your hair, hoping he hadn't seen that. You watched as he stood in front of the steps, chatting with his friends as if you hadn't been waiting for him for fifteen whole minutes.
Your body perked up when you saw him shaking hands, Joon turning his body in your direction again. You couldn't help the way your stance changed as he walked over, trying to appear more attractive.
