[[Lothal Base, 0900]]

Hera and Sabine had been watching Ezra meditating on the lone rock he stood upon most days, since Malachor the team had been fractured, especially Ezra from everyone else. Hera had noticed he no longer flirted with Sabine, not that is was of her concern but she had felt the two younger members of the crew could do with the happiness of a relationship, yet since returning Ezra was darker and more to himself. Kanan on the other hand, he was trying to stay with the crew yet something dragged him away, the Jedi were no longer the hopeful men they left as, now just fragments of what they once were.

Sabine had wanted to talk to Hera about Ezra and his drastic shift in behavior, as she wandered over to her Mother Figure she sat beside her. "He's gone isn't he..The Ezra we knew before" Sabine had whispered with a sigh, Hera glanced towards the Mandalorian  and nodded "Seems so, Whatever happened on Malachor broke him Sabine. The same with Kanan, our boys are gone..." Hera was distraught but had to stay strong for the ever rising Rebellion but her Love in Kanan was fading, she didn't want to lose him for good.

"I miss his flirting...I don't know why Hera, I miss his goofiness. I'm supposed to be a Mandalorian but that damn Jedi has made me soft..." Sabine had managed to let out weeks of frustration with that one sentence. Hera chuckled slightly, "So you have a thing for that little Lothalian huh? Kanan and I definitely didn't see that coming" She said in a sarcastic tone, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "Isn't it against the Jedi Code or something though...I know Kanan ignored that rule but what if Ezra..." Hera had cut her off with a hug, "That boy will always, and I mean it, will always like you. He's not going to leave...He's still our Ezra...I just hope Kanan can bring him back from wherever our little Loth-Cat has gone" She sighed, remaining hopeful for Sabine.

Ezra, since returning from Malachor had been meditating and learning from the Sith Holocron he'd opened in his darkest moment. Learning of the force, and much darker abilities that Kanan would have never taught him, he swore to never let his family get hurt again. Having found a green Kyber Crystal on a recent mission, Ezra had begun working on a new Lightsaber after his previous one had been destroyed against Vader. However his mind lingered around the base in his meditation, sensing the emotions of the crew. Sabine and Hera were distraught yet strong, Zeb was his usual self and Kanan...He couldn't tell, he'd become cold and not open to the force.

Ezra had felt so much guilt over Ahsoka's Death and the blinding of Kanan Jarrus, his promise to prevent them all from harm again had compromised his feelings for Sabine, no longer did he flirt or try to get her to open up, he'd become the very same cold and closed character he once tried to crack.

Sabine had decided to watch closer as he tried to build his new saber, carrying a box of old parts and some grub for him to eat. "Got you some things Ez...If you want I'll leave them here and let you be..." She had tried to sound strong but the Jedi sensed her emotions, no longer did she hide them from him as she once did. "No. I could do with the company" he said sternly, in fact he preferred the solitude but he wanted to make sure nobody hurt his family, including himself so he shuffled the few parts he had towards Sabine. Granting a small smile upon her face, she pulled him to sit beside her, not in a flirty way, she just needed him close he'd been so distant and wanted him to goof around near her again.

Ezra smiled slightly, faking it so she wouldn't pry too much. "Thank you Bine.." he nudged her slightly so she would keep smiling. Her smile that once flattered him and made him blush now just kept that small flicker of hope inside him alive, he knew the Jedi avoided Relationships and attachment 'Not The Jedi Way' he had read in a ancient Jedi text, but Kanan had taught him differently, to rely on those closest to you and keep that flicker of life inside everyone alive. "I like the new hair Bine" he had said without looking up, trying to jam some parts into the makeshift saber he was crafting. The random compliment had made Sabine's body flutter, "I- Oh thank you, glad you like it" she mumbled as she played with the ends of it, watching her Ezra fight back against any form of happiness. Maybe it was too late for the two of them...
