What am I? William asked himself this question, but the answer was simple: a human in a place where humans shouldn't be. His very existence defied logic. With no way to return home, he wandered, forever a lost child.

When the sun begins to set, the main streets of Floating Islands became lively and colorful, illuminated by crystal lamps hanging off the walls. There were numerous races, unknown to the past human world.

William sat in a corner in a cheap diner with a friend.
"Here are the 32,000 silvers. ", having a debt of 150,000 silvers,
"Give me about 2 and a half year, Grick, I'll have the money by then."
That friend was named Grick, an average sized goblin, who works as a salvager to gather relics down at the land.
Grick finished counting the payment,
"Yep, its 32,000 silvers alright." carefully stacking it.
"I have a job for you, then maybe you can finally earn more and pay me in one go, why don't you give it a try?" Grick offered.
"As for what you will be doing on the job, you'll be managing the Army's secret weapons." he continued.

The word "Army" here on Floating Islands usually refers to the official organization made to counter invasions from the 17 Beasts. Even the army still has difficulties against the beast. After all, they are the monsters who destroyed all life forms on the land. Those who have been lucky from the invasion are living right now on Floating Islands, a hundred island fort floating above the land.

"I can't fight anymore, you know that..." William answered.
"Don't worry, you'll just overlook things at the job, you won't fight" Grick answered.
"I'll check it out, but it doesn't mean I'll accept it okay?" William answered back.
