RILEY
"One, and two, and three, and four, and-" I zoned the dance teacher out.
"Riley! You must pay attention!" the teacher scolded.
I gave a slight nod and a yes ma'am and carried on with the horrid dance. I didn't want to do dance but my parents figured it would make my collage application look good. They say 'if you keep doing it you will get a scholarship.' Like I need a scholarship. They could easily afford to get me in to any collages.
Finally the bell rang and on to my next class, but I guess I should tell you who I am, well I'm Riley Grace Anders, and my family is rich, not that I boast about it. There's really nothing that great to being rich, yes I get everything I want or most everything, I get everything that gets a green thumb. What I mean by that is if my parents think it is beneficial or appropriate it gets a green thumb and I get it, but if it isn't beneficial or appropriate it gets a red thumb and I only have dreams of having it. Like on my twelfth birthday I wanted a skateboard, not much right, yeah well they decided it wasn't beneficial or appropriate, because they don't think girls should ride them because they could fall and get hurt. Therefore I never got a skateboard.
On my way to my next class I saw a boy standing by his locker with his friends. I know I may sound crazy but I swear I've seen him before. And before you say 'well you go to school with him' I actually don't I just moved here yesterday and he just seems so familiar.
I went on to my next class, ugh, math my worst subject. Oh well, I need that scholarship right? I walked in and some students were already in there. A few minutes later the bell rang and in walked the familiar kid.
"Hey grape head, how's it going today?" some kid from the back yells, jerk.
"Fine, how about you, airhead, has your day gone splendid, or is that word to big for your bubble brain to understand?" the familiar kid bit back. Man that was good, what's this guys name anyway? Oh well I'll just call him Barney.
"What did you just say?" airhead grits out. Ooh, Barney made him mad. But before Barney could say another smart comment, the teacher came in.
"Alright class, get started with the problems on the board. We have a very busy day."
Class slowly dragged on, but the day was finally over, but right as I was about to leave somebody ran into me, causing me to fall to the floor.
"Hey watch it!" I shouted at the stranger.
"You watch it! You clearly blocked my path!" he shouted back and right then I knew exactly who it was. Barney.
"Oh yea then how come I'm the one on the floor, Barney," I sneered.
"I can't help it that you resemble a mouse now can I, Jerry," did he just laugh at me for my height? Oh it's on.
"At least Jerry doesn't frighten little kids and I can't help my height, you can help your horrid hair," that was the beginning of it all. The first lie I ever told. It wasn't bad, but it was a lie. And that one lie, that one little pre-truth, started it all.
