Riley's POV

The next day I awoke to a god awful noise. When I went downstairs to investigate it was just my cat, Fiona, but I call her fifi.

"Fifi what are you doing?" I asked her, as I went to clean up the mess. She had somehow managed to knock everything off the counters. Probably looking for food.

"Here girl," I said and she just meowed. I went to get her food and then get me some food. While I ate I debated what to do today. It's Saturday and the weathers fairly alright. "Oh I have an idea," I said to myself, but of course my mom had to hear.

" What's your idea sweetheart?" she asked. Well my idea was to take skateboard, which I bought myself and they know nothing about, and go skating, but obviously she can't know that.

"I was just gonna.......go to the pizza place downtown," I lied. Please fall for it, please fall for it.

"All the way across town. How about I drive you?" she insisted. Quick think of something Riley.

"No that's fine,um, I'm gonna walk, stretch my legs a little," I think she fell for it because her face looked content with that answer.

"Your right dear, exercise is very good for you....." she's not finished is she? "........how about after dinner we go for a little run?" of course she wasn't finished. And before you say it's just a little run, I want you to know last time her little run was twelve miles. I nearly died. But I had to act like I wanted to exercise.

"Yea, sure that sounds like a great idea, but I'm gonna go to the pizza place real quick to check it out, you know, see how good the pizza is," I told her. Sheesh lady let me leave.

"Oh no you can't eat pizza. It's too greasy of were gonna go running," of course she had to say that. Of course you couldn't let me be in my fat, greasy, world of happiness. Bedsides I wasn't even gonna eat, I just wanna skate.

"Oh gosh darn I guess I'll get a salad then," worst lie ever I don't eat salad but I don't think she'll notice.

"Your lying you don't eat salad," I spoke to soon. Well one last lie before she catches on. This has to be good think, think, think. Oh I got it!

"Your totally right I can't believe you caught on, you ruined my plan.......I was actually going to see about a job," I know this will work. As soon as I said it her eyes lit up.

" A job?! That's amazing! I can't wait to tell your father! It's your first job!" she yelled, quite excitedly might I add.

"Remember mom I may not get the job. And I don't know if their hiring, or their hours, or anything. I'm just going to see," I listed off so she believed, and so it made the chance of me getting the job lower.

"I know I know I'm just excited," I know that look on her face oh no " you know I still remember my first job," she started, but I cut her off before she could say anything else.

"Sorry mom I gotta go I'm gonna be late," I lied.

"Oh yes go, go, go. You can't be late," she quickly rushed out.

"Alright bye mom," and with that I left out the front door, only to walk around the back and sneak in the window. When I got in I grabbed my skateboard and climbed back out the window.

When I finally made it out of sight I claimed on my skateboard and rode to the pizza place. While I was on my way to the pizza place I thought about how I lied my way out of that and how I didn't get caught. That wasn't my first time lying, but it was my first time lying to my mom. I didn't feel guilty at all though, I felt somewhat proud. Suddenly I stopped riding and waited for the impact of the ground but it never came. I looked up and I saw something I never expected.
