"Kade, Dani, Graham, Cody!!! Come downstairs please!" Chief Charlie Burns called up the stairs to his children. "Okay, Dad!!!" They all called in unison, running down the stairs only to see their Father standing next to a woman, his arm around her shoulder. "This is Cassidy Roberts. My Girlfriend." The kids were silent for a second before smiling. Well.... all except Kade. He was not completely ecstatic about the idea of his Dad having a Girlfriend. "I uhm... Imma go down t..to the bunker bye Dad." Kade said before running off. "I'm sorry about him. He really misses his mother." The Cheif said sadly. "I understand." Cassidy said, taking Charlie's hand. "I..I hardly ever knew mg Mom.." Cody said as Dani pulled him into a side hug. "Oh I'm so sorry." Cassidy said sympathetically. "It's alright, Cassidy." Cody said with a small smile. "Can... I call you Cass..?" Dani asked. Cassidy smiled. "That'd be nice."
A few months later...
Graham took a breath, seeing Cassidy by herself in the dining room. They were the only ones home at the moment. "C..Cassy..?" He said soflty. "Yeah, Graham.?" She smiled up at her step-son. "I...I uhm h...have something t..t..t..too tell y..y...you..." He stuttered a lot, something he hated to do. "What is it, Dear..?" She asked. Graham held his breath. "I'm...... Trans...."
