My feet don't stop. I don't know why. They aren't running with purpose or walking with a mission. They are tapping away while I'm sitting here on the chair. It wasn't a big deal me being there. I don't know why they made such commotion.

I feel so alone, yet the room is buzzing with activity. Policemen going every which way.

"Okay Amber we're gonna try this again" , the chubby policeman muttered.

"Do you know where Paul went? The man who had you?"

How would I know? He left sometimes for weeks on end. Will I have to see him again? I hope not. He'd be livid if he knew I was with the police.

I realized I had spaced out. I slowly shake my head no.

"Since you are 18 we can't send you to a foster home, you have already been checked out by the hospital. What are we gonna do with you?"
The last part he mumbled mostly to himself.

Just as he was going to catch his breath and say more that I didn't care about the doors bust open. Two policemen are walking a guy in.

"Come on man, you at least gotta get better at hiding your dope". The guy rolls his eyes at the policemen.

He is very tall. He has deep brown eyes I wanted to glance at me. I don't know why, but I'd like to see them head-on. He has dark features and black hair. I think I like the way he looks.

Just then the door behind me opens causing him to glance my way. I look away instantly. Somehow I can feel his eyes on me still. This is strange.

I get up to relieve myself.

"Wait just a second miss where do you think you're going?", The officer stands and towers over my small frame. This is scary, it reminds me of him.

"Ba-throom" I mumble while looking at the ground.

"Well okay then make it quick."

I nod my head as I continue on to the bathroom, not missing the glare that the boy was giving to the policemen who scared me.
