Heading To Breakfast

Sophie groaned, rolling over at the sound of her phone ringing. She knew it was Sunday, so why the heck was her alarm clock going off? Biana groaned and covered her ears with her pillow. Sophie picked up the phone to see a caller ID. Keefe's to be exact.

"Hello?" She asked through a yawn.

"Hello there Foster. How are you doing this fine morning?"

"I would be better if I was sleeping," she said truthfully. Keefe laughed through the phone. "Why did you call so early?" Biana sat up and watched Sophie through narrowed eyes.

"Well I had an idea of getting some breakfast together. But if I'm bothering you-"

"No you're not. Sorry I'm not much of a morning person." She wasn't much of a night person either. Sophie didn't get a lot of sleep at all. It was hard for her to drift off into the dream state she wanted to be in, but it was like the universe refused to listen. "Is it ok if Biana came?" Biana's eyebrows raised at the mention of her name. Sophie held up her index finger to tell her to hold on. She didn't feel comfortable being completely alone with Keefe yet. She had just met him yesterday after all. It would be better if someone was there with her.

"The more the merrier," he replied. Sophie nodded before realizing he couldn't see her.

"Ok great. Wanna meet at the front door?"

"Sure. At 9:30. That good for you?" Sophie took her phone away from her ear so she could look at the time. It was 8:00. Plenty of time to get ready.

"Yep. That's fine. See you then." She hung up and put her phone back on the beside table her and Biana shared.

"Who was that? And why am I coming?"

"Keefe. And because I don't want to go alone." Biana's mouth dropped.

"Keefe asked you somewhere and you invited me? Are you serious right now?" Sophie pushed herself out of her bed.

"What do you mean?"

"Ever think he might've wanted it to be just you two?" Sophie rolled her eyes.

"No he didn't. If he did he would specify." She walked to the small closet.

"No no no. I will pick your outfit," Biana told her, running up beside her. "You have to look amazing. And you're style. Well...." Her voice trailed off.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sophie asked defensively.

"Nothing. Just that, you dress like a middle schooler still. A middle school bookworm."

"Your point?" Biana sighed in exasperation.

"Just let me choose something for you. Stand back." After 30 horrible minutes and 27 seconds (Sophie counted) she was now in a red long sleeve shirt with a black skirt that reached her knees and some black boots, all from Biana's side of the closet. Sophie looked at herself in the mirror.

"Isn't this a bit too much for breakfast?"

"Nope!" Biana yelled from the bathroom. She came out with a light pink jean dress and a white furry jacket with the sleeves cut off. She had on some silver flats and her hair was perfectly curled. Sophie stared at her.

"I will never get how you get so glammed up so fast." Biana grinned.

"I've done it all my life. It takes practice. Now it's your turn." She grabbed Sophie's hand and yanked her in. She pushed her down on the toilet which luckily had the lid down or she would've definitely fallen in. "Let's see. We can put a bit of highlighter on your face. Some mascara would look good. And definitely a bit of eyeshadow." She got to work while Sophie squirmed. Biana then started on her hair.

"This is too fancy," Sophie muttered.

"Nonsense. You can never look too fancy." She went at Sophie with a straightener and Sophie drew back.

"No way. I'm not having a hot stick coming at my head." Biana narrowed her eyes.

"I know how to straighten hair Sophie." She grabbed a good bit of Sophie's hair despite her protests. When they had finished Sophie didn't want to admit it but she actually looked... good. She didn't dress up much unless there was a really special occasion. Biana smiled.

"See. You look drop dead gorgeous." Sophie rolled her eyes with a smile.

"Thank you. So do you." Biana flipped her hair like a model.

"Now come on, let's get to breakfast." It was almost time for them to be downstairs. That's how long it had taken to get Sophie ready. They raced down the stairs and to the door to find Keefe already waiting. He was wearing a button up blue shirt with jeans. The front was tucked into the belt but the rest was untucked, making it look like he had put very little effort. His hair was the casual mess it was the day before and he wore the same sneakers. He whistled when he saw Sophie and Biana coming.

"Looking good ladies. Especially you, Foster." He winked which made Sophie immediately look down to hide her blush. Biana just smiled.

"Not looking too shabby yourself." Keefe smirked in his "I know" way. Sophie looked back up.

"Where are we going to eat?"

"My favorite place ever." Keefe paused for dramatic effect. "Denny's!" All was silent. "A little more enthusiasm would be much appreciated."

"Sorry. Yeah, Denny's sounds good." Sophie wasn't too big of a fan but she didn't want to upset Keefe. Biana just shrugged.

"Let's get going then." He pushed the door open for them. Sophie said a quick thank you while she walked out. Biana walked happily to Keefe's car and jumped in. Sophie got in the back with her. It was a nice car. A black convertible. Leather seats, polished front. Cup holders and charger ports. Basically everything you would want in a car. Keefe smiled back at them. "Denny's here we come."

They drove all the way there. Sophie staring at the window, Biana texting everyone she knew to let them know she was riding in a convertible with Keefe Sencen, and Keefe keeping his eyes on the road. Finally they arrived.

They ordered their breakfast and Keefe looked at Sophie from his seat across from the two girls.

"You're smart right?" Sophie raised an eyebrow.

"I mean, I'm passing all my classes."

"Can you help me with one of my mine?"

"Is it chemistry?" Biana chirped. Sophie kicked her softly under the table. "Ow!" Keefe smirked.

"No. It's math. And I'm having trouble." Sophie shrugged.

"I can help you. I basically have everything stored in my mind. Photographic memory." Keefe started to say something but shut his mouth before he did. Sophie tilted her head. "So when do you wanna meet for our tutor session?"

"What about, tomorrow after classes?" Sophie shook her head.

"I have work. But I'm free in the mornings. Or every other weekend." He nodded.

"Tomorrow morning?" Sophie bit back a sigh. She didn't feel like getting up early but she wanted to help her friend.

"Sure." Biana was grinning like an idiot. Sophie tried her best to ignore her.

"Great. It's a date." Before Sophie could tell him that it certainly was not a date, the food came out. Biana nudged her a bit but she just sat there. Had she really just made a date with Keefe?
