Playing Cinderella (an original love story)

Chapter 4

    "Tomorrow at noon I expect to see you all in the recording studio. I believe that the vocals are up to par and it's time to get this album made." Wesley announced at the end of rehearsal. Everyone cheered. "Alright you're all dismissed and Nina I'm noticing a difference. Good work." Wesley said. I beamed, "thank you." I gathered my things and walked out.

         "Hey it's pretty late do you want a ride?" Adam asked. "I was just going to catch a cab." I answered. "Besides isn't it out of your way?" Adam shrugged. "I have nowhere to be. Come on." I sighed and followed him to his car. I put my backpack in the backseat and sat in the front. "So how have you been feeling?" Adam asked. "I've been better. I've started coming earlier and working on my vocals and dances. Also the diet the doctor put me on is working great." I answered with a smile.

        "I just wish you weren't so worried about your figure. You're beautiful the way you are Nina." Adam sighed. I couldn't help but blush. "You shouldn't say things like that. Your girlfriend would be upset." I said. "I guess you're right." Adam said with a shrug. We pulled up to my apartment building and I gave him a smile. "Thanks for the ride I'll see you tomorrow!" I got out the car, grabbed my bag, and went inside. I ate a quick dinner then went to bed. I was so tired.

        The next day I got up and ate breakfast. Once that was done I jumped in the shower and got dressed. I styled my hair so I had my side bangs and my hair was falling in soft waves. When I was finished it was 11:45am. "Okay time to find a cab." I muttered. As I locked up my apartment I got a phone call. "Hello," I answered. "Hey Nina do you need a ride?" Laura asked. "Actually yeah that would be great." I answered with a smile. "Awesome be there in 5," Laura said. We said goodbye and hung up. I walked down the stairs and stood outside. 

        15 minutes later we were at the recording studio. "Are you nervous?" Laura asked. "A little. I've never been in a recording studio before," I answered. "You'll be great," Laura reassured. We walked inside and saw the producer putting the finishing touches on the instramentals. "Nice to see you girls. We'll be beginning shortly." Wesley said with a smile. Laura and I shared a look then set our stuff down. "Is Wesley in a good mood or what?" Laura whispered. "It's kind of creepy." I whispered back.

        "Alright chorus go inside the studio we're going to record your songs first." The producer announced. I hugged Laura then sat down and started looking over the music. "Hey do you want to go practice?" Adam asked. "Yeah sure." I answered with a smile. I followed him into the hallway. "Do you want to just go over our duets to make sure we have the harmonies right?" Adam asked. "Sounds great." I replied.

        After practcing we decided to go and get some hot tea from Starbucks across the street. "Have you noticed how much nicer Wesley has been these last few rehearsals?" I asked after we placed our order. "Maybe he finally came to his senses." Adam replied. "What did you do?" I asked giving him a glare. "I didn't do anything." Adam answered. "Adam." I said raising an eyebrow.

        "Alright alright so I may have pointed out a few laws and threatend to leave the show." Adam said giving in. "Adam!" I said appalled. "What? Did you expect me to just sit back and watch him destroy your self-esteem more and more each day? I couldn't take it anymore Nina!" Adam said. I sighed and shook my head. "I don't understand why you care so much." Our orders were done before Adam could respond. We grabbed our tea and walked back to the recording studio.

        Shortly after we arrived we got to work. We did the songs in order. Once we got to Ten Minutes Ago I became nervous. Adam take my hands and looked me in the eyes. "Everything will be okay. Just look at me. Don't think about anything else." Adam whispered. I nodded my head. "Okay." As soon as the music started I took calming breaths. Adam started to sing and I looked down blushing from the amount of emotion he had in his voice.

        Adam put 2 fingers under my chin and made me look up. I gave him a small smile then started my part. By the time we got to our harmony we were looking deep into each others eyes. The amount of emotions flowing through me were undescribeable. I had never felt that way before. We beamed at each other when the song ended. "Brilliant! Where was that emotion during rehearsals?" Wesley exclaimed. Adam and I jumped away from each other. "Nina you just might not be a lost cause after all." Wesley said. I gave him a sheepish smile.

        When we got to Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful I wanted to be perfect. But after singing all these songs I began to realize something and I wasn't ready. We got into position and Adam took my hands again. He smiled at me and I smiled back. Adam started singing looking into my eyes. I was blushing and when it got to my part I realized something. I'm falling in love with Adam. I don't know how I didn't notice before. Everytime he looks and smiles at me I feel warm all over. When he takes my hand I get tingles. When he says my name or gets to close I get butterflies in my stomach. I'm falling for Adam and I'm falling fast.
