A mythological place where there was supposed to be permanent happiness and peace...
A place where goddess Kyra attained Nirvana...
A sacred location full of breathtaking views and beautiful nature...
It almost sounds like a description of whole another world ment for only the chosen ones that deserve to be there...
Ajay heard about Shangri-la from many citizens of Kyrat and when he found out that inside of his father's house was a frame for Shangri-la painting that was split into five pieces that were scattered all over Kyrat, he decided to collect them.
Yogi and Reggie were in fact the first who gave him the exact location to all of the so called Thangkas, paintings that often represent deities praised by the Kyrat people.
They were also the ones who helped him after he mysteriously came back to his house and passed out, waking him up and telling him what happened after he returned with the Thangka. After the first two pieces he sort of got used to it, however, his mind was full of images from the sacred place...
He always saw thru the eyes of Kaling, a great warrior who was send by his king to find Shangri-la in the first place. When he got introduced to the disgusting creatures send by Rakshasa who wanted to attack him on sight he soon realized that he was not alone... His first companion was a pure white tiger who wore golden armor and later on he gained help from another animal, a giant elephant with white markings drawn all over his massive body...
Ajay got used to the idea of not having any human by his side so when he got cornered by Rakshasa's followers and a female saved him, he was rather surprised.
She introduced herself as Jaanavar, the protector of Shangri-la. She was the one who had send her tiger and elephant to help on his journey and she also saved him several times from getting backstabbed by the demons he fought against. After that, Ajay gained a new friend. They went together thru almost everything...
From killing the demonic beings to actually defeating Rakshasa himself. At the end he was extremely upset because he thought he would never see his friend ever again....
Oh how wrong he was...
...
Ajay, once again, woke up at his house and surprisingly, both Yogi and Reggie sat at his side "You've got the last piece! Congrats!" Yogi exclaimed while patting Ajay on the back and Reggie just smiled at him.
The lunatics overtime became his friends that started caring about his safety. They were like his brothers, well sort of. Ajay even offered them to live in his house but they still insisted on staying in that goddamn tent, saying that their "experiments" were quite dangerous.
Reggie took a hold of his upper arm, hoisting him up "You know, you scared us a little back there" He mumbled and let go of him "Yeah, we've found you weepin' on the ground, curled up in a ball" Yogi continued on "I was crying?" The brunette asked, trying to come up with a reason for his tears but it soon dawned on him...
...Jaanavar...
...He cried for her...
"Hey, you alright mate? You seem kind of upset" Yogi questioned, looking at Reggie with confusion written all over his face "It's nothing" Ajay whispered as his gaze flew to the finished Thangka on the wall, the last piece depicting Kaling and Jaanavar defeating Rakshasa together...
Silence overtook the room as he stared at the picture, Yogi and Reggie were standing behind him, studying the painting as well...
Suddenly a loud thumping sound echoed from outside "What was that..." Ajay growled in defence and immediately pulled out his handgun. There were few more thumps and then a trumpet like sound followed.
"An elephant? How can a bloody elephant get here when we live on a cliff in the middle of mountains?" Reggie stuttered out, terrified of the idea that a giant ass elephant was waiting infront of the house and although both of the drug dealers were scared shitless, Ajay's eyes were filled with hope...
The only way of getting to Ghale's home was a thin pathway leading all the way to the top so it was impossible for such a big creature to climb up without falling...
But there was one elephant who always appeared out of nowhere, even managing to materialize in the godforsaken mountains...
The elephant that accompanied him on his adventure to Shangri-la.
It sounded completely and utterly insane but there was this part of his brain saying "What if?" After all, everytime he obtained a piece of his Thangska he mysteriously found his way back.
And so he ran outside, apparently missing the concerned shouts being yelled by his besties who tried to explain to him how dangerous it was to go out right now. But what could they expect...
He is Ajay Ghale.
The son of Mohan Ghale, leader of the Golden path who fought against Pagan Min...
That thing alone is a perfect recipe for getting murdered.
And of course, being the amazing friends that they are, they followed him right away...
