Hwan : it means bright or fire
Hae : it means depth of the icy ocean

It all started near the cherry blossom tree two princes fell in love one of the ice kingdom and one of the Fire kingdom ( Hwan and Hae ) they had to hide constantly...scared there fathers would drift them apart forcing them to marry some girl , later this did happen...
" ...you are to marry the girl of the northern kingdom ! " demanded the king
" father...I don't want to "
" it doesn't matter what you want ! The wedding is tommorow! Be careful! "
Hae ran to Hwan and told him everything so they decided to run away together,
But a war began between the air , earth and fire , ice kingdoms causing all
kingdoms to have a war , Hwan and Hae knew they had to protect there people
so they stayed and fought , Before they went off to war they gave each other lockets
a black and white one and promised each other they would meet again...
by the blossom tree and be happy once again...
" ...the kingdom of Fire has sadly lost a loved one...Prince Hwang Min Jeon "
Whispered Hwans adviser Chin
Hae dropped his sword as tears ran down his eyes " ...are you serious? You...I....you
Must of heard the news wrong ? " he said hopefully
" your highness ! Pick up your sword ! The enemy is there ! " ordered chin
He quickly picked up his sword wiping his tears " tell me...who told you this ? "
Asked Hae , he couldn't believe it...he didn't believe it...
" ...Hwan uses elemental Magic...how...how...there is no way an ordinary man
Just killed him like that ! " said Hae
" it was a dark magic user...I'm sorry my prince but he wouldn't want you to die. I know
You love him...but stay alive...for him "
Hae stayed alive after the war...as soon as he reached home he ran to
The blossom tree , he was surprised it was there all the others were gone
When he reached there he could not believe what he saw.
It was Hwan...
" ....Wan...you...how...your...supposed to be d-Dead " cried Hae
Hwan gave him a tight hug and a kiss before explaining everything.
" ...I know...I'm a spirit...like a ghost ? I guess ? "
" I...don't...believe you...this is a dream right ? "
" you can literally do Ice magic , how can you not believe in spirits ? "
" but how ? "
" The lockets are magic...they will keep any soulmates bonded together as long
As both of them aren't harmed...we can stay together...but no one can see me "
" as long as you are alive and the locket is fine...we can be together "
" This is great ! " smiled Hae
Maybe they had a chance of being happy again ? Well no...
The king over heard his son talking to No one or at least that is what he thought , he though his son was crazy and imagining things randomly talking to himself about the locket he wears so he decided to destroy the locket.
" ...Father what are you doing ? How did you find this place ? "
" ...Never mind that who are you talking too ? "
" don't tell him..." whispered Hwan holding his hand tightly
" no one father...there is no one here - "
The king snatched the locket of his neck and broke smashing it on the floor
" NO ! How could you..." screamed Hae as he watched his lover fade away
" No no please don't go ! " begged Hae
" I'm sorry darling ? Stay strong okay ? " comforted Hwan
" I love you " Hwan whispered before fading away Into dust
" you have gone Crazy ! Mental ! " shouted the king
" your the one who is mental ! I'm tired of hiding ! I loved him okay ?
I don't care what you think ! I don't care anymore...he's gone - "
" listen...If you marry that princess I won't tell anyone...your crazy "
" I'm not crazy ! And I will not marry her ! "
" I will kill you ! "
" Fine ! Then do it ! "
The king had so much hatred in him that he killed his own son ,
Right near the cherry blossom tree...
The kings wife later found the locket and fixed it by using using the cracked parts
To form a ring but it was too late to bring the two lovers back...
she gave the locket to her daughter who later gave it to her daughter and so on , she gave the ring to Chin of the northern kingdom and she gave the other locket to the Min family...it is said till this day that which ever lovers meet at that tree will be protected by Hae and Hwan but they are cursed and will eventually meet the same fate as them...
