KAITLYN STONE
When I got home Jonathan and Cameron were no where to be found. I found a note from my boyfriend on the table.
Katie,
Cameron and I are out at the archive practicing the new illusion. I should be home after dinner.
Jonathan
I sighed and laid the note back on the table before going upstairs to shower. I couldn't stop thinking about what needed to happen. If Jack was right and this Mystery Woman was after Jonathan and Cameron I'd have no choice but to be the one to kill her. I had to get Jonathan and Cameron to agree to come with me to meet Jack's team.
I made myself dinner and sat down on the couch with the television on.
*DING DONG*
The doorbell rang pulling me out of the TV show I had on. I walked over to the door and looked out the peephole to find Wyatt on my doorstep.
"What are you doing here?" I asked cheerfully as I opened the door.
"I thought you might need a drink before we get too involved with the CIA and their mission." He smiled at me raising the bottle of vodka in one hand and shot glasses in the other.
"It's just as much our mission as it is theirs. Our job is to protect the public." I sighed walking back into the living room.
"If she wasn't after Jonathan and his brother would we still be involved?"
"Yes. We would. At least I would. You don't have to be involved." I sighed again sitting down as he brought me a vodka shot.
"I'm involved because you're involved. My job is to support you." He smiled at me as I took my shot.
I'd never been a lightweight when it came to alcohol but after three or four shots I started feeling really dizzy.
I shook my head trying to clear my mind as my vision blurred. I blinked quickly trying to clear my vision as I started to fall back against the couch. My breath came quickly as I tried to panic, my heart racing as Wyatt's face filled my vision. He didn't look concerned so much as impatient; like he was waiting for something.
"You're a stubborn woman, Kaitlyn. Just let it happen." He smiled at me as my vision went black and I lost consciousness.
JONATHAN BLACK
The lights were on in the house when Cameron and I pulled up and Wyatt's sports car sat in our driveway.
Kaitlyn's must have been in the garage.
"No! Get off me!" Kaitlyn's voice came from upstairs as I opened the front door followed by the shattering of glass.
I ran up the stairs with Cameron at my heels. The bedroom door was open and the light was on. Kaitlyn was on the bed trying to fight off Wyatt who was pinning her down; both of her wrists in his hand. Her shirt was torn and he was grabbing at the waistband of her pants.
I grabbed ahold of his neck and threw him off of her into the wall of the bedroom. He was bleeding from a gash in his head. Cameron stood between us his hands against both of our chests.
"Go check on Kaitlyn. He's not going anywhere. She needs you." He looked at me firmly.
I was breathing heavily; my heart racing with anger but he was right. I knew Kaitlyn's strength and skills. There was no way Wyatt could hold her down unless he did something to incapacitate her.
"Kaitlyn." I said her name as I leaned over her.
Her eyes were closed, her breathing shallow and she was covered in broken glass. I shook her shoulders firmly but she didn't look up at me.
"What did you give her?" I yelled at Wyatt looking up at him.
He just stared at me defiantly.
"She trusted you." I shook my head pulling out my phone to call Kay while I monitored Kaitlyn's breathing and heartbeat.
"Jonathan?" She answered on the first ring.
"Wyatt attacked Kaitlyn. He won't tell me what he gave her but I can't wake her up."
"I'm on my way. Call 911 and get her an ambulance." She said before she hung up.
"991, what is your emergency?" A firm female voice asked.
"I need an ambulance to 4824 Clearview Drive in North Hills, New York. My girlfriend's been drugged and attacked."
"Is she concious?" She asked.
"No. Her breathing is shallow and her heartbeat is slow but steady."
"An ambulance is on the way. Please stay on the line with me." She insisted.
"Is the assailant still in the house?" She asked as Kay walked into the room.
"Is the assailant still here?" I repeated to which Kay shook her head.
"No. My brother chased him out after I pulled him off of her."
Mike walked into the room and grabbed Wyatt roughly pulling him out of the room.
Moments later two male paramedics were ushered into the bedroom and began working on Kaitlyn. They took blood from her for testing at the hospital. After they loaded her onto the stretcher I followed them out to the ambulance so I could ride with them to the hospital. Kay and Cameron followed in her car but Mike left in his car driving away.
Sitting next to her hospital bed concerned and still fuming that someone she trusted could hurt her so badly.
He'd given her a very large dose of rohypnol; a common date rape drug. The doctor didn't expect her to wake until the morning.
"How is she?" Cameron asked walking into the room with two coffees and handing me one.
"The doctor says she'll be okay. He gave her rohypnol. Enough to knock out three grown men and she still managed to fight him off until we got to her." I sighed.
"She's strong, Jonathan."
"Do I tell her what happened if she doesn't remember? Can she handle that kind of betrayal after losing Scott?"
"Of course she can. She'll want honesty, Jonathan." Kay answered from the doorway.
I sighed not taking my eyes off my sleeping girlfriend.
"Wyatt is being dealt with until Kaitlyn is well enough to decide his fate."
"What does that mean?" I asked finally looking at her.
"She's our leader now. His fate lies solely with her. She'll decide if he should be prosecuted or dealt with internally."
"You mean if he should just be murdered?" I sighed.
"Essentially, yes. He was going to rape her. If you hadn't gotten home when you did he would have." She needlessly reminded me.
I looked at Kaitlyn still unconscious in the hospital bed and shuddered at the thought of what he could have done to her.
