Chapter 6: We're Overdosing.

Sheriff Porter.

"I have to get ahead of the 10 AM Napa news, Ruby. I called you to say I am going on record about the overdoses before the rumor mill gets going." I whispered sternly on the phone as I sat in my office back at the station. I am running on hour 26 of no sleep no one better not fuck with me.

"Holden, Napa has been finally getting back to a town full of peace, pep, and cheerful noise. If you announce these overdoses and these citizens..get wind that drugs are back in play in this town murder, turmoil, and chaos is soon to follow." She argued. I took a deep breath finally realizing how hard this is about to be on her. She have fougt tooth and nail while raising a pair of twins and still being my wife to get this town back in good standing.

"I promise you these overdoses wont result in nothing else. One of my officers realized what drug it is in connection to a big drug bust in Miami. We are already in movement to catch who is selling them in Napa and cut the source off. Love you and ill be home soon." I told her before hanging and standing up as I seen a shadow walking pass my window. The door opened and Officer Gene Greyjoy walked in. A new red headed officer that just joined my force about a month ago. She has the beauty that is hard not to notice.

"Sheriff, the press and cameras are already setting up outside. As you expected these overdoses didnt go unnoticed. As I came in one lady was asking was this a mass murder scene. You should release a statement." She told me as I chuckled, "You are 9 weeks out of the academy and you are telling a man older enough to be your daddy and has more arrest than you have teeth and years of age what to do."

"No-dont take offense. I didnt mean it in that way. All im saying is"

"that you are going to be a good girl and get back to desk duty for the morning shift." I cut her off as I motioned for her to leave my office. She walked out and I paced my office hard wood floor trying to peace together this statement that was going to hit Napa news at 10 AM and I aint half ready. That is in 3 hours.

"A drunken night turns into a late dinner slash breakfast." I laughed as Malik scrolled thru his phone begging for me to pick what I wanted on UberEats. I needed this type of adventure. We closed 69 at 3 AM and rode to Gaxonville to the 24/7 Club&Bar. We dropped Kori off about 30 minutes ago at her porch drunk ass fuck. Luckily Dandy had Kori.

"Come on, what do you want? Do you just want to ride to that Mom&Pops restaurant in town." He offered and my eyes shot open.

"OH MY GOD! JENNYS! They have the best maple syrup and fluffy pancakes. Im down." I yelled hopping off the kitchen counter as Vogue came around the corner rubbing her eyes.

"Benji, you are soo loudd. You are killing my beauty sleep." She told me as I laughed.

"Well, luckily we have some fine ass parents so we dont need much beauty sleep." I told her as she hopped in the barstool and smiled, "Dont smooch up to me...GEOFFF!" She screamed for our butler. I gasped, "Aye! Dont do that! Thats rude."

"Mom said call him when she isnt up to make us breakfast." She told me in her spoiled bratty attitude. Geoff came around the corner in his 3 piece suit and smiled, "What can I make for you?"

"Eggs over easy. Cinnamon Bagel with cream cheese and two strips of maple syrup bacon...pleaseee" She said smiling from ear to ear and he nodded his head and went to preparing the kitchen.

"And may I ask..is your brother, Carter joining you for breakfast?" He asked her.

"Yep. Make it two and we are going to be on the back patio. Mom said we dont have to go to school today." She explained as she hopped off the barstool and rushed off in her pink robe.
