Is there too much ugly in the past for a beautiful future?

[OVERALL RATING]
4 STAR BOOK

STRONG POINTS
"Descriptive. Keeps me wanting to read more.."

"The book has good character dynamics,  the flashbacks really add to the character development of Simone and Dom. The split povs work well and the plot has some strong thematic concerns ( domestic abuse,  sexual assault)"

"She was very well descriptive with the characters and the subject of the book. She made everything clear and it have myself and many readers captivated."

WEAK POINTS
"The beginning seems a bit clichè, dialogue is a bit confusing"

"The transitions between scenes could be smoother."

"I felt that the prologue was more of a first chapter. It didn't really really advance the story or give background information because chapter one simply continued where it left off. Currently, I feel that the prologue doesn't match the structural flow of the book so far."

"In the beginning, I was confused with the point of view of the characters or the plot , it was like I was reading two different stories. "

STORY PROGRESSION RATING
4.5
The story moves at a good pace and gets straight to the point of the plot. It's easy to keep track and doesn't bother me.

DIALOGUE RATING
3.5
Sometimes we got confused on who was talking. The dialogue felt thrown in.

DETAIL RATING
4
The details paint a good picture for the story but it isn't overbearing.

CHARACTER RATING
Mixed Reviews - Highest Common - 4
Characters have a love and hate relationship with the readers, very complicated, but they seem clichè and typical.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
"Either the author possibly changes the prologue into the first chapter to maintain the structural flow of the book or possibly starts with background information based on Simone and Dom's relationship before the abuse. Also, the author could possibly have a scenario with Simone tutoring Xae in high school."

"I love the theme though, it's related to real life stories and it's thrilling yet it's fascinating to see the overall outcome. I hate the character Dominick because of course, he's the "bad" character and the abuser in the story. I love the character Xavier because he has a heart, he's kind, willing to help and knows how to love a woman. I hate Bree because she's selfish, she's not someone whose understanding and all for herself. The best part for me is when Simone meets Xavier. I believe meeting him will help her realize a lot and she'll eventually get the necessary help she needs and take actions on Dominick, which is really what she needs after all. I'm so sorry her son Junior would eventually have to go through this though because sooner or later he's gonna be asking questions. It's a good read so far. It also teaches you. I'll recommend anyone to read it. I added this story to my library, by the way."
