i awoke greeted to the sound of an alarm. i jumped up, my auto-response reacting. i yawned, still tired. i spotted everyone around me, all my siblings and even my father, running around prepping. a mission. i walked up my father, trying to ask him a question. i nagged his arm, only for it to slip through, the tingly feelings coming up. the realization of what happened earlier flooded my thoughts, my whole perception changing in front of me. i rubbed my forehead, agitated and confused, all of it jumbled together. i ran up the stairs, into my room, greeted with my same decor as before. i sat down on my bed, it creaking with every movement i made. i pulled my weight it, the creaking getting on my nerves. i got up and sat down on my desk chair and contemplated every possibility that this would happen. a memory flash against me as i remembered what father had said.

i sat in his library, bored and nudging the books near me. i had been barely listening as my father told me all the possibilitys of my abilty. "five!" he shouted, noticing i had not been paying attention. i looked up, greeted with his face plastered with disappointment. the look hurt my heart from a young age and still did. "pay attention, this is important." he reminded me. i nodded, trying to go on. he continued on with the lesson about the dangers of my ability and what not. "your powers, they have great potential, but they have many opportunities for disaster." he warned me.

"they use a warping system, you go through three different spaces before arriving. they go so fast you wont notice it but, you've got to keep this in mind." he hesitated for a moment before continuing. "the first, is where you start and gather your energy up before bursting it out. the second, is where you need to be careful. its a box of time, that you can easily get stuck in. in there, seemingly everything looks the same as outside, but everything is different." he said. i nodded, fear bubbling up in me. "now the third, is your destination, where you 'teleported' to." he finished up, and patted me. "keep these in mind, and you'll do great." he encouraged, his fake tone even more evident than before. i gave a weak smile, trying to be brave.

i shook myself, my head hurting and my thoughts racing faster than before. goddamit! i had forgot about that god-forsaken 'system.' i grumbled, now more frustrated than before. that old geezer didnt even remind me! i layed back in my seat, thinking. i suddenly pushed back, my seat squeaking on the hard wood. i ran out of my room, just to be greeted with pure, empty, silence. i sighed, looking down. everyones left. i walked around the house, looking for anyone. i peered into vanyas room. even she left, huh. i walked down the long stairs, into the large hallway with the ridiculous fountain. i looked around, the room feeling bigger and bigger with each step. i sat down onto the cold, concrete ledge of the fountain. i watched as the clock ticked at each minute, the time going slow. the ticking felt like it was going faster and faster, as it got on my nerves. i yelled out, in confusion, frustration, and anger all mixed up. i sighed, feeling defeated.
