Chapter VI: "U AND I MAKES WE"

"Joiah, what are the four goals or Purusarthas again?" Kelly asked as she sat on the empty seat beside Joiah who was busy writing notes.

"The Four Purusarthas?" Joiah repeated looking to Kelly after knowing her presence.

Kelly only nodded in response and awaited for Joiah's answer. Meanwhile, Raylee came to them and borrowed a scissor to Joiah.

"Oh. Raylee, could you please tell Kelly what are the four Purusarthas, again?" Joiah asked as she  opened her bag and took out the scissor giving it to Raylee.

"Uhm. Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha." Raylee recited and walked away after Kelly said her thanks.

"So what's Dharma? And also, it has said in my research that the main goal of Hindus is to achieve Moksha. What are those terms?" Iris asked and stared at me scratching her nape as she could not get through the meaning behind the terms she has uttered.

We have heard the conversation happening between Joiah, Kelly, and Raylee and that's why Iris began to be curious with what she has heard.

"Why ask me, Iris? Ask Azalea." I stated and pointed the sleeping seatmate of mine and we both look at the sleeping girl beside me.

"She's sleeping after eating lunch?" Iris asked in disbelief. "I don't want to bother her, Ali. Don't you really know the differences of those terms? It's your topic yesterday."

"I don't know. I wasn't really paying attention yesterday and that is the same with my groupmates. Liz was sketching on her sketch pad and Jane was texting with her phone. Rick was playing with his phone and Kelly was listening to music as she has her earphones on yesterday." I stated and Iris looked at me disappointedly.

"OK. Let's just talk about your topic then." I said diverting the topic to discuss.

"Our topic?" Iris said and brought her head onto the her desk.

"It's about the....." Iris began telling me but I soon grew bored and told her to not talk about it anymore by changing the topic.

Soon, ma'am Lyra came in and we were asked one by one in a recitation just as what she has said yesterday.

Time passed.

"Alienee! Are you coming with us?" Alex came running to me as I reached the white gate of the school.

It's another day for a dismissal and I'm walking my way out of the gate but was halted by Alex's call.

"What?" I turned my head back and saw Alex.

"Hey, Ali. We're going to eat in the gazebo at the sea. Wanna join?" Jaila gave the question who came after Alex.

"At the sea?" I asked intentionally.

"We are going too." I heard Bruce said it.

Shard, Chela, Yohan, and Lian came after Bruce.

"Come on. It's Shard's treat." Jaila said with a smile and pulled my arm.

I didn't refuse the invitation and we rode to the sea on their motorcycles.

We were walking our way to the gazebo when I caught sight of Reef walking around the seawall and seemingly going to where he stayed yesterday.

"Will he teach me though?" I muttered and it's a good thing no one recognized me.

We entered the gazebo and chose our spot then we sat down. Right then, I saw Rose passed by and I called to her.

"Ali. I didn't know you're here. Mom went here with me and my little brother, Clarence." Rose informed me as she made her way to us.

My classmates greeted her and exchanged smiles.
