My gaze never wavered, they are from my pack, I know it. They seem to notice me staring as they both look up from their conversation and turn to look at me. Before I can even think of something to do, Rhi pushed me up to the counter and I order my drink. As I get the cash out of my wallet, my fingers are trembling, why am I so scared?"Thank you," I say, giving the lady who got my order a nod. When I turn to look back at the two people, they are gone. Like they had vanished from thin air. They could not have gone far, could they? Well duh, they're wolves they could be miles away by now. I sigh in defeat, "That was my one chance and I totally blew it." I mutter to myself.
I walk over to the table they were sitting at moments before and plop in the chair. Something slides off and onto the ground as I sit, a crumpled napkin reading Parker? I freeze, how could they remember a nobody like me? Then that strange aura comes back, and when I glance up, they are outside the window looking at me, as if they were waiting for some kind of confirmation that it really is me.
You're in real trouble now.
Who tf keeps talking to me? Could it be- no... could it be my wolf?
I guess I am at around that age where kids learn to turn, but I've had no training whatsoever, how can my wolf be strong enough to communicate with me?
DING DING DING I am your wolf idiot, took you long enough to figure that out.
I almost jump out of my seat from the sudden noise.
"You good? You seem rather jumpy today." Rhi states as she takes the seat across from me.
"Yea I'm good, I just have a headache," I respond, massaging my temples.
"Well, I'm not sure caffeine is the best for headaches, but I hope you feel better." Rhi smiles and I smile back. "So, about this history project due tomorrow..."
Ok so my wolf is here, for some reason, even though my mom said my wolf would never be strong enough to be summoned because of my non-existent training.... so that's interesting. I just saw people from my pack and they ran away like I was some pesticide they didn't want to catch - AND THEY RECOGNIZED ME. (definitely one of the weirdest things about all this). Oh fork I almost forgot, I guess I'm considered a rogue now since I am technically a runaway wolf. Shit, if only mother had told me why we were forced to leave in the first place I would be chillin.
"HELLO, earth to Parker. Jeez what's gotten into you? Your usually outgoing and weird and now you're all quiet and brooding."
I give her an apologetic smile before saying, "Look Rhi I have to go, but thanks for driving me here, I can walk home. I'll see you at school tomorrow." I get up, grab my drink from the counter and leave before she can even ask why.
As I sip my coffee on my way home, I ponder over the thought of why these wolves would be in a human town like Cambridge. Sure it's a cute town, but do wolves usually come to human towns and I just never notice?
Correct. With me, you can smell them. Before you couldn't. Weakling.
"Ok wolf, you're really mean and I don't appreciate your negativity."
Don't talk out loud Parker your gonna seem like a psychopath.
"Whatever."
I grudgingly make my way to the apartment where my mom and I live, hoping she hasn't left for work yet knowing it's probably around 9:15 right now.
... But, I never get there.

"Oh Fork I'm awake. FORK IS THE SUN ALWAYS THIS BRIGHT. Ughhh." I roll over my side and try to push myself up. The ground below me is smooth, a little wet. Ew I'm laying in the grass. I get up and brush myself off casually. Two werewolves are staring at me, their eyes black.
