As the sun whent down, the stars came up. I wasn't prepared for what was ahead of me, but I knew, somehow, I'd have to find a way to sleep the night safely.

I dragged myself through what was somewhat like a jungle to me, I've never been abroad, never discovered new things or learnt about different cultures, why hadn't I? I've had all the time in the world, but Ive never bothered to get up and experience new things. After what seemed like a long time of reluctantly walking through a maze of a jungle, I finally found somewhere where I could rest for the night. I had left a trail from the outskirtt of the island where I was, winding in and out of each tree and vine to where I am now, it was the first sensible thing I've done so far since I've got on this damn island.

I looked up, gazing my eyes on what would be my bed tonight. A tree, it was the only safe and secure object I had seen for a long time of walking through this deserted jungle.

I reached up onto my toes, trying to see a path for me to take up the tree safely, there was a few stumps here and there which could support me climbing up the tree but I wasn't sure. Quite frankly climbing up this tree wasn't a choice,  I needed sleep, and soon.

I picked my self up and stepped over to the end of the tree, I saw my first step to take, I reached up, clawing for a grip, I placed my foot neatly into a small slot on the bottom of the tree, this wasn't so bad, I had a firm grip on the tree and I could see my next step, hey who knows I could make it to the top of the tree by morning! Step by step I climbed up the tree, until finally reaching my bed for the night. I crawled across to the start of the tree branch I was going to sleep on, it seemed firm, I could definitely sleep on this without it breaking from my incredible weight. A sudden thought came to mind, how was I supposed to balance myself on a tree branch all night when I can't even manage to sleep in a king size bed without falling out? I smiled, remembering the warmth of my bed and laying aside my beautiful wife. I will come back, I will... For my wife and kids sake...

I snapped myself out of my daydream causing me to sway from side to side trying to retain my balance to stay on the tree.

I looked to the left, searching for some kind of rope type item on which I could tie myself to the tree with. I saw nothing, I turned my head to the right hoping I would have more luck.

I still saw nothing.

I banged my head against the tree, I'd have to climb down since I have nothing to hold me stable up here, I looked up, leaning my head against the tree and searching the stars for some kind of hope, something to keep me going.

I opened my eyes, looking directly forwards towards a thin tree, something was blocking my way, I tried to tilt my head to see if I could see the tree that way, it was no use. I focused on the strange object for a moment, it's slimy, green complection stunned me, I had never seen something so disgusting. I scrolled my eyes down, realising how long this unknown object was...

An idea came to mind, despite its slimy appearance and green colour it could make a good rope...  I reached up onto my knees, crawling across the branch to grasp the 'thing' at the end.

As so it looked, it felt slimy aswell, I took hold of the item and slowly started crawling backwards still having a strong grip on the item to make sure it doesn't slip out of my hands.

I resumed my position as I was in before, still holding the object that I just got, I inspected it, looking closely at the texture of it... I still didn't know what it was, I would just class it as a vine as it was the closest looking object to whatever I was holding now.

I wrapped the vine around the tree, 3 times just to be sure it was secure, I pulled down more of the vine, wrapping it around me 3 times, and lastly repeated wrapping it around me and the tree 3 times. I finished the process by tying a fishing knot with the vine, small skills like that come in handy in times like this, my father taught me how to do it, we used to fish together every Sunday, that was until he passed away...

I took breath, releasing it with a yawn. I found a comfortable enough position for the night to sleep in, I rested my head once more against the tree, slowly taking one more look around me and eventually, closing my eyes, falling into a deep, deep, deep sleep...
