I Am The Adult

Okay, so this thing that parents say, in order to have an reminder of their dominance is probably the worst way to do so.

"I am the adult, you are the child"

...................

OBVIOUSLY WE KNOW THAT. You do not have to remind us EVERYDAY that we are younger than you. We know that you have the upper-hand in almost every argument.

Also, there is know need to remind us that we came from your private parts on a daily basis.

Seriously, no point. Like we would like to forget that we live under your roof and we would also like to not remember that time in health class, where we learned how we were conceived .

It also frustrates me to be talked down too. Like, okay not only are you calling me wrong but you're letting me know that I am not an equal.

Dude, back off . As children we already get the worst deal in the respect department and now you're telling me that I'm not equal.

Anyway

You could argue about ANYTHING and they pull the "I am the adult card". Like that's going to help anything.

Does it make you guys feel better by putting your children down. Seriously that one statement makes me always have emotional stress for the rest of the week. It makes me so mad to be put in my place so rudely. Okay. yeah. you're older , and yeah, you're my parent , but respect goes both ways. I don't know about my readers ,but I don't deliberately try to disrespect my parents. No matter what they think I do not deliberately try to make them upset. And having them say that, makes me feel disrespected too.

NOTE TO PARENTS:

If you are trying to assert your DOMINANCE to Your child or ANY child, DO NOT SAY "Because I am the adult", Not only does it make them so frustrated, it is like putting your child down, and it is totally 100% disrespectful.
