Namjoon's P.O.V
"Sir Namjoon?" Are words I manage to make out from the muffled noise behind the door of my bedroom. It was soon followed by three quick knocks. It was Jung Hoseok, my father's secretary who happened to also be my "caretaker."
"Alright." I say just loud enough for him to hear. This has been a normal scenario ever since I was a child. Before, it was Hoseok's father, who was my own father's secretary. He was like a better father figure to me, and he would bring Hoseok sometimes, we were both kids and liked to play with toy cars. Until an accident happened to him and he died after Hoseok graduated college and father offered to lend a hand to his former secretary's son and made Hoseok work for him.
Even so, I asked multiple times for the babysitting to stop. I'm 24 now, for heaven's sake. I don't need anyone babying me.
I get up lazily, still refusing to open my eyes. I was standing there for a few minutes, eyes closed until I hear my phone ringing from my bedside table.
I grab it and check the caller. It was Im Nayeon, my future secretary. Dad said that I will start my journey at age 25. I graduated college a few years ago though. Currently, my father is teaching me the ropes around business. I focus on that and only that. To be honest, I'm kind of nervous.
Of course, I'm not going to start at being a CEO. I have to climb my way up being Vice President, SVP, and EVP of our company.
Answering the call, I leave my room without fixing my bed and without slippers. Automatically, our maids outside offered me a pair of slippers.
"Hello Namjoon, how are you?" Nayeon asks through the line. She was not only my future secretary, but my friend in college. She's a year younger than me but we were close nontheless. Not as close as me and Hoseok, though.
"I'm alright. Something wrong to call this early?" I reply and a shuffling can be heard in the background.
"I'm moving to Seoul next week. I'm going to start training to become a secretary." I can hear her happiness on the other line. I imagine her smiling with her bunny teeth out. "I have to take my cousin with me though, he got kicked out of his university in Busan." She adds.
"That's great! In-"
"Can you help us find an apartment? Two bedrooms, medium price range, alright?" Nayeon cuts me off. I sigh and agree. I believe we have an apartment building complex near Seoul University.
After the call finishes, I am downstairs and on my way to the kitchen. The maids carry around plates of food on the dinner table. I asked where my sister was, they said she already went to school. Sighing, I look down at the plate. Guess I'm eating alone today.
"I haven't eaten yet, want me to eat with you?" Hoseok enters with a dark blue suit on, contrasting his professional clothes, his hair is still a mess. He seems to read my mind as he asks for hair gel from one of the four maids surrounding us.
I nod in response, I vaguely hear one of the maids say 'eye candies' and I smile, shaking my head.
We got serves different sorts of dishes in small amounts. A little bit of meat and alot of vegetables. What I eat was always controlled to that I don't eat too much or too unhealthily. Guess you could say I haven't had fast food since I was 13, when one of my friends treated us to McDonalds for his birthday.
"So," Hoseok starts. "I managed to get a partnership with a new company. This will be a fresh step." Hoseok smiles. He liked doing his job. He's even incharge of making deals with other companies.
"What is it?" I ask after chewing a piece of brocolli.
"An entertainment company." He smirks and I raise my brow. It was definitely a new type of partnership. "BigHit Entertainment, one of the top three biggest in South Korea. Perhaps you've heard?" Oh yeah, I've heard of it alright.
