Namjoon's P.O.V
The chatter at the office dies down within the last few minutes. Earlier today, father held a meeting some of his people, discussing what to do about the matter. He really didn't want to let this deal go.
"I was already planning on one of their groups on advertising our new LG phone," My father starts. "We need something fresh, models are just too common nowadays. Their groups are also really famous overseas as well."
The Vice President, Kwon Soonyoung, raises his hand. My father allows him to speak.
"Sir, surely BigHit is not the only company willing to work with us. There's also Pledis Entertainment who wants to work with us. I sent in the paper earlier today. But sir, giving this opportunity of BigHit might be a huge loss to the other company," He says, composed. "I suggest having a talk with the company who also wanted the deal. Maybe we can find a way around it, or we can make changes." The VP finishes and my father nods.
"But we don't know which company made the deal." the SVP, Lee Jihoon interrupts. He is a small man but full of authority, also known for hitting anyone who pissed him off. He's a genius, nontheless.
Not to mention my father's company are filled with young people with a high social status and a well-off family bsckgrounds.
"That's why we'll have to find out." Mr. Kwon says to Mr. Lee. The former is still not pleased, but agrees anyway.
I formulate the issue. Signing with Pledis will be a huge leap on our part, but with BigHit, it would be two giant leaps. We could have a deal with two entertainment companies, that would make the gap with others bigger. I raise my hand.
"Father, surely I can find a solution. Just give me some time to think about it." I say, my father raises a brow at me. "Please. Let me handle this, think of it as my official work that's coming."
"Alright, son. Seal that deal."
-------
"What the hell was I thinking?" I panic. Me and Hoseok were sitting at a café during break time. He had to go back in 30 minutes but my father gave me the day off for me to think about a possible solution.
"If you didn't think you can do it, why did you tell your father you'd handle it?"
"I was caught in the heat of the moment." I run my fingers through my hair, hiding my face behind my large caramel macchiato.
"Well I think you can do it. Stop whining and start thinking, dude." Hoseok comforts me, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Cool off at the park, you know. Think about it. Whatever you will make up, will be a success. I'll support you throughout." Hoseok finishes before getting a text message.
"I have to go back, the papers from a company in Japan just came in." Hoseok says bye and I nod at him. He grabs his chocolate frappe and heads out the café, into his car.
Now I'm alone and I have to think about what to do. Damn my mouth for saying too much.
I sipped at my cup a bit too quickly and I feel the icy drink freeze my brain. Sighing, I finished the cup and threw it in the nearest trashbin, left hand on my head.
Afterwards, I got out of the café and walk on the busy streets of Seoul. There were awfully alot of people today, I decide to take a stroll.
My feet takes me to a mall with a music shop. I smile at myself, reminiscing the memories of me and my mother on this mall. She took me to have ice cream so I wouldn't whine when she took too long buying clothes and eyeing the musical instruments. My mother was a virtuoso.
