Chapter 12

JUNGKOOK'S POV

Day changed to days, week changed to weeks, month changed to months, and finally, it had been a year after Sejeong's accident. Sejeong was now 9 years old and like always, I can only watch her from afar. When it was a month after the accident, Yuna didn't allow Sejeong to get a bus to go back and forth school. Besides, Sejeong's broken leg limited her movement to get onto public transport.

My father-in-law was the one who took and sent Sejeong to school for a month. Then, the holiday started and when it was ended, Sejeong's condition gotten better.

But today, once again, Sejeong was admitted to hospital since her temperature risen and didn't go down for how many days. Yuna didn't tell me, but it was me who asked my mother-in-law. My father-in-law who was cold towards me before seems okay nowadays when I often lend some help previously.

"Eo, Jungkook-ssi," Yewon said hi while closing Sejeong's sliding door.

"Hi," I greeted her and smiled. Yewon smiled at me back but with err.. worry expression?

"Yuna isn't here. She had to go to Singapore for a week," Yewon explained to me. I know, that's why I came. And maybe because of that, Yewon was in charge to take care of Sejeong.

"I knew. Can I meet Sejeong?" I asked. Yewon seemed hesitated to give me her permission but finally, she let me meet Yuna's daughter.

"Ahjussi!" that kid seemed happy to see me here.

"Hai, Sejeong," I smiled. I didn't bring anything since I was from my office.

"Feeling better?" I asked and Sejeong shook her head.

"I'm dizzy. It's still hot here," Sejeong lied her hand her neck. I just laughed.

I met Namjoon just now and asked what was Sejeong's problem. Namjoon did mention the specific term of Sejeong's illness but I didn't remember what is it. But for sure, her temperature rose for a long time and the causes are unknown. The world is getting weirder nowadays! Even such undetected cause of fever could exist!

"It seems like you have to stay here longer, then," I teased her.

Sejeong pouted.

"But I want to celebrate my birthday at home. It's sooner," she complained.

"When is your birthday?" I asked, just to make up a conversation.

"30th May!" she claimed like she was the only one who was born on that day.

I counted silently and it seemed like her birthday will be arriving in a week!

"Mummy said Sejeong came two weeks earlier!" Sejeong explained again. I smiled. This kid talked a lot for sure.

"A kid should be in her mother's womb for 9 months and 10 days but I was in mummy's womb for 9 months only. That's why mummy said Sejeong came out two weeks earlier!" she explained again. I chuckled. This Yuna's daughter is a smart kid...

"Usually, what will you do on your birthday?" I asked since she talked a lot about her birthday. Her expression changed but I didn't know why.

"A lot of things. Usually, mummy will take a day of leave to celebrate my birthday. Sometimes, aunt Sojung will join us."

"Who's aunt Sojung?" I asked.
