Chaos and excitement fill the halls of SBS' waiting rooms as idols, artists, celebrities, and their managers prepare for their schedules. Rosé walks behind her manager, who creates a path for her in the sea of producers and staff rushing past. This was the first time her girls weren't with her and, despite their well wishes, she felt the pit in her stomach drop deeper as they near the designated waiting room for Fantastic Duo.
"Hey, I have to get some coffee and maybe talk to the producer about some upcoming schedules. Make yourself comfortable?' the manager asks Rosé as she drops her off.
Nervous, Rosé scanned the room in search of a spot until her eyes lay on a familiar face. It was Junhoe, his eyes wide as they gawk at each other for a few seconds before Rosé promptly props herself beside him.
This was the closest in proximity they've ever been since their respective debuts. And, if they uttered more than a hello, it was going to be the first time they've ever interacted beyond the small nods during award shows and YG's halls. Did Yang Hyun Suk know that they were going to be in the same show? They each thought to themselves. Even then, YG may have seen this coming but took the risk anyway.
"Nerve-wracking, huh?" Junhoe tried to ease Rosé, who has been fumbling with her thumbs since she sat beside him.
"Yeah"
"I'm really worried"
He mirrored her exact sentiments. On TV and during award shows, he always seemed confident so it was a little shocking to learn. She shook her head slightly and let out a sigh of relief knowing she wasn't the only one whose years of training was being betrayed.
"Hey, I'm nervous too but it's okay. We trained for this" Rosé said with a smile. "We can do it."
Their conversation soon progressed into their love for music and the people they were listening to now. It was like picking up where they left off the day before, only that the last time they ever spoke to each other was years ago.
A knock on the door interrupted the comfortable vibe that was developing between them while inside the infamous SBS waiting room.
"We're starting in five minutes. Please get ready and make your way to the studio."
