Sumali was stunned by the sight. He ran and stopped the hunter from doing so. The hunter turned to him and smiled. He had a familiar aura. The huntress also came and stood beside him. Sumali, in a fit of rage confronted the hunter, "how dare you try to remove the shivling from it's place? Don't you know that you can face the rage of my lord." The hunter was still smiling and looked at the huntress. She smiled and nodded and walked up to Sumali and said,"But how can you claim it , it's in the forest not in your home. If it was yours then it would have been in your house not in the forest. If you do not need it then why not let us take it." Sumali was now feeling more guilty about his deeds and fell on his feet." I had no choice " he exclaimed." Our neighbors threatened us to complain to the king if do not stop worshipping Lord Shiva. Now the hunter spoke, " If you are such a big devotee of him then why heed to others words and leave your devotion. Always remember devotion comes from heart and if it is true then no one can make a difference." Sumali was enlightened and fell at the hunter's feet and and told," I will the shivling with me and worship it and will never abandon it even if my neighbors critize it I will be true to my devotion." Saying this he closed his and shed a tear. Just then a light touch of a hand wiped his tears and he looked up to see that the hunter and huntress was not there, instead Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati was in front of him. Sumali was spellbounded. He stared at them as a child was staring at his parents for the first time. Lord Shiva now told Sumali that his devotion has pleased and he was also happy by the offerings he used to make daily though being rebuked, he just needed to acknowledge this which he did and told him to ask for a boon. Sumali replied with that he needed nothing as their vision has satisfied him to the fullest. But still, the pleased Ashutosh granted him the boon of a son who later became a great Shiv bhakta who roamed the world spreading the lord's kindness and greatness.
The End.
