I nervously glanced around to see if anyone knew exactly what is going on. Kailua stares at me with wide eyes. Suddenly a large arm pulls me into a tight embrace, and growls again so that the people who weren't paying attention now had their attention diverted to us. "Mate. My mate " He spoke in what sounded like a purr.

The strange green-eyed man tightened his grip on me making it impossible for me to breathe. As if I had just regained my sense of reality I tried to fight out of his iron grip, which may I add didn't cause much affect only making him nuzzle his face into my neck. I stood there uncomfortably accepting my fate when an unknown man steps out from the shadows and clears his throat.

"Alpha we should probably head back to our rooms and finish this meeting another day" The man attempts to give me a weak smile but is rejected by the burly man whose arms I am all wrapped up in. The man hesitates before looking back at the man behind me "You may like some time to get introduced to Asthenia" I frown.

I don't remember giving him my name. I notice the sudden absence of heat on my shoulder before a large hand envelopes my small one and tugs me toward the center of town where a local inn awaits. I have to run to catch up with him so I don't get dragged behind. He takes an abrupt stop making me walk straight into him. "What is your name your name mate?" His green eyes now clouded with an emotion I cannot interpret. I nervously gulp before responding "Asthenia, what is yours?" He beams at me. "Jasper." He pulls me into a large yet cozy cottage with an oak sign hanging above it that reads Hilltop Inn.

I decided that this was maybe a good time to speak up I tugged on his arm and asked: "What are we doing here?" I have to jog to match his pace. I can think of hundreds of questions that I need to ask. He gives me a look that makes me feel stupid. I blush and looked down avoiding all eye contact. Jasper grumbles then gently lift my chin to meet his eyes. "Look at me. We are going to stay here overnight and tomorrow we will cover any loose ends, and then we will head back to my pack. Any questions mate" I hesitate before I answer. His stare makes me feel intimidated.

"Will I get to be able to say goodbye to Kailua?" He nods wordlessly as he leads me toward the front desk of the lobby, where a girl who looks to be only a few summers older than me stands in a very short dress.
Which is hard for me to say since we nymphs usually wear short dresses. She gives me a once over and doesn't look very impressed but she gives a flirtatious smile to Jasper as she gives Jasper a plastic card. "Have a wonderful stay!" The glare she gives me after saying that pierces my skin harshly causing me to flinch into Jasper, which doesn't go unnoticed as he gives the girl an equally brutal glare.

We walk up the stairs that are located right of the front desk. When we finally reach the top of the stairs he leads me to his room and sides the plastic card through a metal device at the top of the door, and once the small metal box blinks green Jasper pushes open the door.
