Miles POV
Visions Academy
Monday, Last period

I rushed out of my dorm, forgetting to even lock the door. Luckily Ganke had a free period, so hell probably spend his  time in there. Spider-Man mask in hand , I try stuffing it in the biggest part of my backpack making sure no one sees it. I ran as fast as I could to the other side of the enormous school. This would be my fifth time, I would be late for literature class. Mr. Poldaro said, that if I was late one more time for the school year he was going to call my parents. And I couldn't risk getting in trouble with my dad, especially at this school.  I would never hear the end of it. I sprinted to the class room door. Forgetting to knock, I swing the door open.  I was met with surprised, and judgmental stares. Mr. Poldaro looked up from his white board just in time, for the last period Bell to ring.
"Well , Miles how nice of you to join us early today."
I walk into class. Scanning the room, I saw a seat was free next to (y/n). Her (h/c) hair was in a new style, that I thought was looked nice. I haven't talked to her much, which is weird , because we have alot of classes together. I take the seat, and get our book that we are studying from.
"Hey, did we move on to another chapter yet?" I ask, flipping through the small paper back book. She seemed a bit surprised at my question. Then she answered "He's just asking us questions from last class. I think he's gonna give us another assignment."
"Ha!, I bet! He probably wakes up first thing in the morning  and goes ' I can't wait to ask 80 questions on the same chapter this class. ITS like the highlight of his life!" I laugh. (Y/n) giggles.
"Miles!" I hear Mr. Poldaro say from his desk. I rised my head to the direction my name was classed in.
"Yes Sir.?"
"Since your mouth is already open, tell us about the last chapter we read." He says getting up and grabbing his book.
"Last chapter we read about, Annie and Timothy's secret weddings, in the flower garden. Oh! And Annie talked about their first kiss together, and thats it I think." Mr .Poldaro got up from his seat .
"Okay, good. Thanks Miles for that recap. Now Assignment time. He said singing the last part. Almost in unison, everyone took a long drawn out sigh.
"Your all going to act out part and scene from the book. I will be choosing the chapters you all do, and who your partners are."
I looked over at (y/n). She looked surprised at what Mr. Poldaro said. Even a little bit scared? Maybe she didn't want me as her partner. This made nervous for some reason. I guess this is a great chance to make a new friend.
"Ryan, kris you'll do chapter... eight." Mr. Poldaro stated.
(Y/n) laughed.
"Why'd you laugh?" I ask her.
"Chapter eight is when Annie and Timothy had their baby. Plus Ryan and kris hate eachother. I laugh.
"Thats tough. I hope we don't get anything to bad." I laugh, nervously.
"And last but not least Miles and (y/n). You guys will be doing the last chapter we read." I look at (y/n) for her reaction. It was obvious we both didn't expect this. Everyone in the class started laughing and smiling at us. I can imagine how uncomfortable she must feel. I smile and nudge her.
"Well at least we don't have Ryan and kris's chapter!" I joke. Everyone giggled. (Y/n) looked at me with a small grin. The bell rings one last, for us to go home for the weekend.
"Uh- Are you staying at school this weekend?" I ask (y/n).
"No. Are you?"
"No. I'm actually going to stay with my parents. Do you maybe wanna come and rehearse tomorrow?" She seemed even more anxious then before.
"Ummm, yeah no problem. I'll talk to you later then... uhhh." She went into her bag and grabbed a pen and a paper.
"Hears my number... you know if anything comes up.
"Oh yeah... here." I take the pen and wrote my number down.
"Just incase." I smile.
"I'll see you tomorrow then, maybe around twelve?" I ask grabbing my bag.
"Sure I'll be there. Bye miles". She says returning the smile. I leave the room, with a blush on my cheeks. Atleast  (y/n) was pretty, and nice. Maybe this assignment won't be so bad after all.
