Ruby Shades

Chapter 5

My face is streaked with dry tears and my skin and clothes were caked in Kurimanji-san's blood. I wondered how long it has been since I was locked up in here. Days, months, years, time does not exist in this cell. I feel this longing in my heart as if something is missing. Strelka was taken away from me, and I think this is it for me.

"This will be my death place, huh, never expected this." I said to myself. "He, Hehe, haha, HAHAHAHAHA. Rainer, come kill me now!!!! Why are you keeping me here?! Kill me!!! I dare you to, you bastard!!! HAHAHA!!" I screamed.

The guard at my door slammed his fist on the door, yelling for me to shut up. I sat there giggling, I gave up on life right then and there. I didn't care anymore, I just wanted the torture to be over. They don't even feed you here, they just wait for you to rot.

A lanterns light illuminated the small barred window in the door, I heard protests from the guard saying its dangerous in here.

"AHHHH!!" A man screamed and I heard a thump from a body falling to the floor.

My eyes widened in fear mixed with excitement, they've finally come to kill me! I smiled and giggled! "I wonder how their gonna murder me?"

A mysterious persons hand slapped my cheek. I looked up into the light, I could see only a faint shadow of a male body.

"Who the hell are...wait a minute..!" I paused, it was the shadowed man that I saw on the day my parents and sister were killed.

"I've never got to introduce myself, I'm Raziel, the angel of Mysteries" he said. " it's quite dark in here, let's go outside so we can see better, also let's get these stupid chains off you."

The instant he said that the chains on my wrists disappeared. He offered his hand to me, I took it and stood, flakes of dried blood fell off my clothing. He scratched his chin "Oh my, let's get you new clothes as well."

With a wave of his hand, my torn, dirty clothing turned into a white dress with red lace and ribbon going across my back. "How did you do that?" I asked.

"Magic" he replied. He turned to walk out the cell door. "Let us go" he said while offering his arm to me.

I curled my arm around his and we walked out the cell. The hallways were just as dark and damp as my previous room. A light was growing as we walked toward the door. It had a small window at the top, but it was barred.

Raziel opened the door and led me to a small grassed area near a tree, out of sight from the prison. It was so bright out, it took me a moment for my eyes to get adjusted to the sunlight.

I breathed in deeply, and turned to see how the mysterious person looked. My cheeks flushed. His hair was a golden brown and eyes were a silky hazelnut. I could say he was not much older than me, maybe in his early twenties. I'm only 19. He noticed me staring at his perfectness and smiled. My heart melted.

He bowed and offered his hand. "Shall we dance?" A faint Erhu song was coming from all around us.

I smiled. "Of course."

We danced for who knows how long it was wonderful. The music was flawless and I still had no idea where it had come from, but I did not care. We stopped to catch our breaths, I stared into his eyes, his face got closer. Our lips met and we kissed. I closed my eyes, enjoying the moment.

Our lips parted for a small breath. He frowned and whispered into my ear "I'm sorry, this is nothing personal." I tried pulling away "what are you doing!" A sharp pain erupted from my mid back, I felt a liquid run down my skin. My eyes were closing, as I was fainting from the pain.

"You peice of sh--" I collapsed.

Everything is black.

What's happening? Am I gonna die again?
