Lukas knocked on the door of the room that Karol was staying in.
“Come in,” Karol said from inside.
Lukas walked in. Karol was sitting on his bed; it was single bed with a floral headboard, large puffy cushions and duvet with a floral design. He was sowing up the rip in Sofya’s red dress. Lukas hid the box of chocolates and bouquet of flowers behind his back.
“What you doing?” Lukas asked.
“Fixing Sofya’s dress, I don’t know why I doing this, she even told me she wants to wear the dress I made her for Giles’ birthday ball,” Karol replied
“I know it’s late, but…” Lukas smiled, “but here,” he said putting this on the chocolates and flowers on the bed.
“Luke, you didn’t need to get me anything!” Karol blushed putting the dress aside.
“No, no, it’s doesn’t matter” Lukas said sitting beside him.
“Chocolate, eh?” Karol said sadly and his stomach growled.
“Is any there anything the matter?” Lukas asked.
“I’m fine.” He lied
“Are you sure?”
“Of course” Karol took hold of the bouquet and smiled down at it “Thank you, Lukey”.
“Your mouth is smiling but your eyes are sad, why?”
“I’m just so emotional that you would get me something so nice, you know how I’m not used to people carrying about my birthday.” Karol pushed his ash blonde hair behind his ear. He then smiled excitedly, “I got you something if you want it?
“Sure, what is it?”
Karol jumped off the bed and crawled underneath it. He took out a shoe box and placed it on the bed.
“It took me days to find them, I hope you like them!”
Lukas opened the box to find dark brown army boots inside. Lukas lifted them up and looked at them.
“I-I kept the receipt…”
“No, no. It’s just amazing that you got me them, real ones!”
“It’s nothing special.”
“I don’t mean to be rude, but how much did it cost?”
“162 Francs…”
“162!! I have to pay you back!”
“No, no. It’s not that much; it’s barely half I earn working for Couture in a week”
“Thanks anyways,” Lukas smiled
Karol got up from the bed “I’m going to take a shower, if Sofya asked about a dress, it’s that one” Karol said pointing to the dress.
“But dinner’s is going to ready soon”
“It’s only going to be a short one” Karol lied he was going to take a shower now so he could skip dinner, although he hates eating, he hates eating in front of people more, especially those he cares about.
