"baby please I gotta go and get ready for the reaping" I say in a plead of help. Macro understands and let's go of my hand. Phew. "okay babe but meet me by the village square in an hour" He says . Grrrr what is his problem? "okay" I just say and walk out of the room walking down the stairs and bidding my goodbyes to Susan. I barely got within two inches of Marco's gate when I heard his annoying screech of a voice behind me. "baby wait" what does he want this time? "yes?" I ask impatiently. "you forgot to tell me the three most important words" he said innocently. "and what are they?" I ask even more impatiently then the last time. "er baby don't show me up" He says a little bit embarrassed I have no time for playing games. "urgh you annoy me so much Marco I don't even love you I bet you don't love me now I'm leaving and this will be the last time I walk through this gate now goodbye" I said and walked away I heard Marco shouting as I walked down the street with my head held high I felt proud I felt this was the beginning of my norma life. I was so fought up in planning my new life I wasn't aware of a girl following me when I suddenly acknowledged her I jumped back a pace. It was a girl with beautiful brown eyes and the same colour hair in two plaits she was very pretty. She stared at me for a while before speaking. "I'm very sorry for startling you I really am sorry truly deeply sorry" she said appoljecticly, smiled humbly and walked off. I could help thinking this was another start to my normal life actually having a friend. I ran after her "wait" I shouted whilst still running she turned around and stopped. "you didn't need to apologise anyway what's your name?" I asked hoping she isnt like all the other girls who run fifty miles when they see me but suprisenly she stayed and smiled. "Sophie, I already know yours it's Masie isn't it?" She asked nervously. "yes how do you know?" I asked her. "oh we'll I've seen you around the village and.....and..." She tried to finished her sentence but she couldn't it didn't matter because I knew what she was trying to say. "And you know me as the girl everyone must stay away from because I could supposedly kill someone and I train instead of going to school" I finish her sentence for her. "well yes but I don't mind one bit" She said smiling away. I was shocked by her reply and stood there for a bit and she said something else in a sort of whisper. "but I don't think you'd actually kill anyone that's just mean and you don't look like all the 'others'" she said. The 'others' is all the other people that train. "you mean that? You mean what your talking about when you say you do t mind that I train and everyone must stay away from me?" I ask smiling with her. "yes I mean it!" she beams "I've wanted to command speak to you but your always with your boyfriend or friends and Inever want to intrude" she adds. "oh to be completely honest with you I'd prefer if I had extra company or someone else besides tHe ''others'" is said giggling,Sophie also giggled. "well Isuppose I better be off to get ready for the reaping" I said remembering the event oh so quickly."oh yes I do hope I don't get picked I'd die before I even got into the arena" she said laughing I gave a chuckle. "oh it's okay I'd volunteer for you if you did" I said winking she hugged me and said thanks. We left out separate ways promising to meet in half an hour.
