What is life? Is it just a series of moments playing out without purpose until a muscle ceases to beat? Does it have any purpose? It's true what they say life is too short, too brief, many of us live and die without a signature effect to the global culture, but life is personal and even the most insignificant moments can affect a person greatly.
My name is Bethany Ryan, a teacher at St. Andrews and I find myself thinking of life almost every day. The ways, in which it can play tricks on the human mind, giving it a fake sense of security before destroying all hope in one swift movement like a knife through butter. There are some you will never know of any woe, happily breezing through life without a care upon their shoulders. For others life is a contrast war, battling to over throw each barrier in life. But I dare say from most life is the mixture of the two.
As I tell my class, every story has a beginning, and I'm sorry to report mine does too. It's a story about a boy I knew, a boy who changed my outlook on life. But to understand we must return to the beginning.
